Fun Paw Care Dog Training

We are having a great experience working with Russ. We are training our 9 month old golden doodle to be a service dog for our special needs daughter. It can be a handful to take care of a special needs child, her 2 siblings, and everything else that comes up in life, but Russ made it very easy to carry forward all of his training at home. Particularly, it was tricky for us to ensure our dog Marty got consistency with all the adult and child handlers in the house. Russ made common sense recommendations that set everyone up for success. On a final note, I had difficulty finding a service dog trainer as responsive and professional as Russ. 5 solid stars!

We just wrapped up our initial evaluation consultation with Russ and let me say, he IS the real deal. Our hour and a half felt like a masterclass. I learned so much during that time. After our consultation, he gave us a packet with an absolute wealth of information regarding topics we discussed during the call, our plan, and everything we need to do to improve our pup's quality of life. He takes a very scientific approach and it's clear how much he truly understands about animal behavior. If you are on the fence and are debating the cost let me say, it is 1000% worth it. I have spent many months reaching out to different trainers and let me say: Russ is world-class and it is absolutely worth investing in your dog to work with him (especially if you struggle with difficult behavioral challenges such as separation anxiety). I look forward to working with him more and can't wait to see how my pup grows and improves!

My partner and I were in a tight spot in LA, having come out to visit with our two dogs and our housing accommodations fallen through. Both dogs had had previous training but had issues with occasional aggressive behavior and separation anxiety. At the last minute we decided we could get ourselves some breathing room by sending them off for a training bootcamp. Russ was very responsive and got us a booking last minute. He was communicative the entire week, taking lots of videos and photos. He was also very thorough with writing up reports on the dogs' problematic behavior and necessary interventions. Clearly this is a person who loves the animals and loves what he does. We still have a lot of work to do with the dogs but they are already more attentive to us than when they left. I would highly recommend Russ's services.

I went to Russ for service dog training and I am so happy I did. He is not only a top notch trainer but an extremely knowledgeable behaviorist which is extremely valuable when training a service dog. He was able to identify and even modify certain behaviors. He provides excellent feedback, resources and totally sets you up for success. Training a service dog is a process and having Russ on the team is a valuable asset. After being with Russ she is so happy and eager to learn. She is so attentive and always “checking in”.She is way more polite and even her patience has gotten better. She is a young pup so we’ll be back :-) I can’t say enough positive things about this experience.

Fun Paw Care is amazing! We are almost two weeks out from Copley's weeklong boot camp with Russ and we are still seeing growth in our boy's behavior. Russ helped us with learning and controlling Copley's triggers and has given use the tools to help him with his anxiety. When Copley met Russ he did so with fear and aggression and by the time he was dropped off he and Russ were the best of friends. If you are looking for a dog trainer and behaviorist in the LA area you can't do better than Russ!
