Gator A Dog Training

Ashley and Gator A Dog Training did an incredible job with my 10 month old golden retriever, Blue. We had been having a very difficult time with him on leash - he had knocked me down and dragged me around several times before we went to Gator A Dog Training. He was also very fearful of everything. I can’t thank Ashley enough for all the work she did with him. Blue came home a more confident pup, and now our walks are enjoyable. Ashley gave us the training and tools to work with Blue - it was up to us to continue his training and be vigilant with it. I work with him several times a day and I’m so happy to say that he is doing really well. Friends and family can’t believe he’s the same dog! I love how Ashley developed a training program for Blue, based specifically on what he needed. I highly recommend Ashley and Gator A Dog Training.

AVOID. I spent the money and did the month long board and train. I did not get a video update the first week, and was nervous from there. I was told my dog was "nervous" and didn't "warm up" to her for a little. Ok, I understand that may be tricky for some dogs, but a month later the dog should at least come when called. After a month of training the dog should be able to follow basic commands such as come, sit, stay. The dog could sit before she went to board/training, so that was not a problem. Long story short, the dog got out in a neighborhood and I spent an hour calling her, only to have her run off every time I got close. At one point I gave up because she had run so far, and chalked it up to a lost dog. That to me is not value for your dollar. Now, I was offered for her to come to my house for one on one lessons, but I deemed it not worth it after the first time when she just sits there with a bag of hot dogs giving commands; dog complies and when she leaves back to old behavior. I can give treats and get a desired response, but why was this not cemented and mastered during the $2000 month of training? The reason, this trainer is worried about training her own dogs for competitions. That seemed to take a lot of her focus during conversations, so I assume that she did this on side to earn money for said competitions. I have no hard feelings against this place or the trainer, I just want to give others my experience to better inform in hopes they don’t get ripped off as well. Good luck to all

Ashley is pretty amazing! She has a rare talent for training and taking dogs to the next level, as well as a total devotion to the dogs in her care. Her insight into animal behavioral issues and helping dogs and their families to manage and change those behaviors is to be commended. Highly recommend her for everything from puppy training and behavioral modification to full competition training/titling!
