We can’t be more thrilled with the progress that our pups have made with Gen1k9. We have a husky that loved to escape and run around for hours. He is now able to walk off leash and stay by our side without running off! Our new puppy also has been transformed with obedience and leash training. He no longer pulls and I don’t get the leashes tangled when I walk them together. They just walk nicely by my side. I can’t thank Lorena, Denise and Shelby enough for their hard work and their dedication to teaching me so I can continue to be successful in training my pups. I just wish I had found them sooner.

We enrolled PJ in Lorena‘s two week day training to help him overcome his leash aggression. Lorena’s approach is very gentle and effective. She helped crate train him and got him to the point where she could walk by other dogs with little to no reaction/aggression. The key is consistency. We continue to work with him and see amazing progress. We no longer fear seeing another dog on our walks and feel PJ is more responsive to our commands. We highly recommend Gen1 K9 if your dog has any issues. You’ll both be happier.

My Aussie puppy, Maple, completed Lorena’s 3 week intermittent board and train program and if you’re reading this review, the answer is YES, sign up your dog for training with Gen1K9!!! I knew when getting a working-breed dog that professional training was a must. We were making good progress at home with Maple on obedience and many commands, but we struggled with leash walking and all of the normal puppy manners (or lack there of). I felt as thought we had hit a plateau with reward-only training, but I only wanted to use balanced training techniques under supervision of a professional. After meeting with Lorena I knew this would be the perfect board and train for us because her priority is safety. I never had to worry about Maple while she was away. Lorena creates personalized training programs for every dog. As I expected, Maple caught on very quickly to balanced training techniques, and because of that Lorena was able to work on many advanced skills. After training, Maple has found her “chill” — she’s still an energetic puppy, but she knows how to calm herself and do “nothing” when needed…no more counter surfing during meals! 🙏 She also walks on leash like a champ, no longer pulling or trying to go up to strangers or other dogs. She is able to lay down and settle in store and at restaurants. She even lets me trim her paw pads and grind her nails without minding. Using e-collar skills, we enjoyed our first off leash adventure at the beach. Training is a life-long process, and knowing we have Lorena’s support moving forward is priceless. I will absolutely send Maple back to Lorena and Denise for boarding as well. Worth every penny!
