Gen 1 was such an amazing trainer to work with! she is knowledgeable and carrying not only will see explain why commands are important but why it sets great boundaries! She explains the different tools she uses and why and why it is so important for you to learn to use them properly for your furry friend. It was amazing to watch my dog grow during training and how quickly she picked up the commands. I can not even begin to say how happy we were working with Gen 1 definitely highly recommend if you are looking for a well rounded knowledgeable trainer.

I personally hired Lorena for advanced training for our Mercedes. Mercedes was a wild puppy and out of control. First time we met Mercedes was pulling and barking at her. Now Mercedes is a brand new dog. She obeys and walks so well on leash and off leash. We are so confident when we go anywhere with her that she will be well behaved. Lorena taught me so much on how to handle my pup. She has not only become Mercedes trainer but a lifelong friend. I can’t thank her enough for all the wisdom and help she gave us. It’s so enjoyable to go on walks, take our dog to the store or even traveling with her. One time my husband left the side gate open. To my surprise she was just sitting there staring at the the driveway but never went beyond the gate. How awesome is that. It’s due to the training and time we put in with Mercedes. We couldn’t have done it with Lorena. She is amazing and wonderful to work with.

We had no idea what we didn’t know until we met Lorena. Best decision we ever made as pet parents. After rescuing our boy Logan when he was 1, we were not prepared for the Belgian Malinois stubbornness within him. We hired Lorena to help us train him to be a good walking buddy for my husband and so that he would not learn the bad habits of his then 8 year old brother Joey. I thought for sure Joey was an old dog who couldn’t learn new tricks, but we decided all four of us would go through training together so both boys would know the same commands. It was absolutely life changing! Joey went from anxiously pulling me on walks and having major leash reactivity (that was stressful to me and terrifying to people we passed) to walking calmly by my side, even OFF LEASH, with ZERO reactivity to other dogs. I did not think that was possible!! Meanwhile, Logan learned to stay with us off leash in parks or out front, both boys recall on command, wait before stepping through a door, go to place and stay until released… I mean, they sat on our front porch during a yard sale on their place cots and just watched and wagged their tails calmly without a single escape attempt… I could go on and on. It only gets better the more we practice what Lorena taught us with them.

Lorena at Gen1 K9 is AMAZING. She started working with our golden retriever girl at 6 months old and after only a few sessions she had our dog trained so well. She was able to teach our dog way more than just the basic commands. Our girl walks off leash, has amazing recall, and is a great listener. Lorena has years of experience and knowledge. We get compliments even 2 years later on how well behaved our girl is. We highly recommend Gen1 K9!!
