Get Pawsitive Dog Training

Our family has had the pleasure of working with Pilar through various services that Get Pawsitive Dog Training offers! We enrolled in In-Home Training when our puppy, Cooper, was 12 weeks old, took the Puppy Kindergarten class beginning at 4 months, and have used Board and Train twice when we had trips planned. Pilar was wonderful at establishing our confidence and trust, was extremely knowledgeable, individualized our training to our family’s needs, and made it a wonderful and fun experience. Our puppy fell in love with Pilar and made a special bond with her which made leaving him, while difficult, a lot easier to do. We also loved Pilar’s expertise, creativity, and overall fun personality in making our sessions enjoyable for us as first time puppy owners. The individual training combined with the puppy classes have really set Cooper up for being a positively socialized, well-mannered, and delightful member of our family and our neighborhood. We are so thankful that we found Get Pawsitive Dog Training and plan to continue participating in the programs they offer so that Cooper continues to be trained to interact well in all settings and with other people and dogs! Pilar is amazing! I grew up with dogs but had never raised a puppy. In puppy kindergarten, my pup got the socialization in a controlled and safe environment. The first class she hid she was so nervous, but by the fifth and final class she was a social butterfly. We practiced material from a handbook that accompanies the class, and I think it was more training for me so I could practice the behaviors at home. Pilar additionally shared games that she’s created for her own pup so make training more fun for both parties! Between activities, there was moderated puppy play time. I could not have been more thrilled by my experience and the outcome from all the hard work. Well, it probably shows how thrilled I was because I signed my pup up for a total of 3 rounds of puppy kindergarten to get her a wider range of puppies to meet as well as to reinforce the behaviors we practiced at home with distractions in class. I use everything I learned every day! From trusting in her recall when my pup is off leash, not being pulled on walks, being able to say “leave it” when I drop onion on the kitchen floor vs “take it” when I drop a piece of steak - I owe so much of it to Pilar and Get Pawsitive!

Great resource for our puppies. Sarah Helped us prepare prior to their arrival (training and stuff we would need). Pilar in Puppy Kinder was very helpful for us and helped us be better pet owners. Having puppies is harder than we remembered and there were many times we didn’t know if we could do it but the training helped empower us and stimulate/challenge the pups. Highly suggest this training program, organization, Sarah and Pilar.
