Golan Dogs

We needed some help with our rescue pup Macchie, who had a lot of fear of people coming into our house, strangers near him, other dogs while on walks, and it was turning into what we thought was aggression. We are so happy to have found Golan. His approach is very informative, as he explained throughout our sessions the “why” behind Macchie’s behaviors and what we can do and how we can act to help him gain confidence, which lessens the fear. Turns out, we were unknowingly doing a lot of things that were aiding his fear. Golan’s methods are straightforward and easy to follow. He explains things clearly and concisely, always reiterating it throughout the session, so it became routine for us. We noticed a difference in Macchie quickly. After 8 sessions, there is little to no barking when he hears noises outside or when people come into our house, he approaches our guests calmly (and even lets them pet him!) and he is more comfortable meeting other dogs when on leash. Highly highly highly recommend Golan as your dog trainer! Sawyer, Our puppy, had a playful biting problem and after watching countless YouTube videos on how to correct her, getting no results, we finally decidedly to purchase Golans 8 week puppy package. Within the first week, sawyer went from a wild, uncontrollable gremlin (leaving scratches all over me) to a sweet puppy who is more obedient than most other dogs. Golan is punctual, communicative, and his methods are effective. 👌🏻

We are extremely grateful to Golan. After much research I contacted Golan to see if he could help us since we just adopted our new dog Duncan (a street dog from Mexico) and were concerned about how one of our other dogs would do with him since she was so reactive. After watching our dogs interact with Golan it was clear that it was Duncan (and me) that actually needed the training – Duncan had no confidence and actually snapped at Golan. We had only had Duncan for about a week and he had never shown any sort of aggressive behavior – I’m glad it was Golan that was on the receiving end instead of a friend or family member. We have always had dogs and this is the first time in the past 20 years we’ve hired a dog trainer/behaviorist and I cannot believe the difference it makes – I wish we would have done it years ago. The difference in not only Duncan, but our other dogs when compared to Golan’s first lesson is huge. They bark less and listen more. Duncan has more confidence, is listening to corrections, has learned to walk on a leash, and although we are still working on it, has begun to listen when I call him to come to me. Golan didn’t just come in and give directions on how to get my dogs to do what I wanted them to – he observed my interactions with my dogs, and explained what I needed to do to effectively communicate/interact with them in order to get them to do what I wanted. His sessions are very customized; they were not generic – one size fits all – Golan would ask for updates and if there were any other behaviors that needed to be addressed – and his lessons reflected what needed to be work on. Thanks to Golan we have learned so much about how dogs think and understand, and he has taught us how to better communicate and interact with our puppies. Because of the tools he’s given us our house is a lot calmer and not only are my husband and I happier, but our dogs seem happier too. Another thing that I find exceptional about Golan is that we just had our last lesson (4 sessions) and he never tried to sell us additional sessions; in fact he told us that if we have any questions or concerns to feel free to contact him and he’d give us tips. Duncan needs to get surgery but once he recovers we plan on talking to Golan about additional training – Duncan seems very smart and motivated and we think maybe he needs to be trained to do a task, something mentally stimulating and we are hoping maybe Golan can help us figure that out. If you are looking into hiring a dog trainer or behaviorist look no further – Golan is the person for the job.

Golan has been AMAZING with our rescue dog Lilou. If you are looking for a trainer who can handle resource guarding, fear of men, and anxiety all WITHOUT using any physical discipline or gadgets then Golan is the trainer for you. He has worked MAGIC with our dog and commands a fundamental understanding of dogs that translates in each session. Our dog was toy aggressive with other dogs, in our beginning session she lashed out at a dog and with just one word from Golan she dropped the toy (which she’s never done) and laid at his feet tail tucked without any prompting. We were stunned. He gave us the tools to establish the same respect which we are continuing working on. Through further sessions we were able to work on all other issues in home environment etc. and have been so pleased to work with Golan. Highly recommend, thank you for everything!!
