Golden Paws Dog Training

Golden Paws Dog Training is an excellent choice for those new to dog training as well as experienced handlers. My experience with this business spans ten years and includes two different rescue dogs. Classes I've completed include Manners, Advanced Manners, Agility and Rally which ultimately led to my first experience in the ring and titles in competition obedience and rally! I love the small class size and the positive-based training approach that is offered here. As a private consultant, Nicole provided me with invaluable advice on managing separation anxiety and reactivity in my dogs. We are so fortunate to have this amazing resource in Northern Minnesota. I have attended the Puppy Socialization class and Basic Manners class with my puppy. I am scheduled to begin the Advanced Manners class in the near future and plan to complete the Canine Good Citizen class and test here as well. The training taught here changed my entire approach to dog training in a very positive and rewarding way. I was skeptical of the positive reinforcement only approach at first but I have found it to be the only way I will train my dogs moving forward. Not only does my puppy perform the skills presented in class, but also my relationship with him has improved greatly during our time. I find myself experiencing more patience with him and have a better understanding of how to view dog training in a way that supports desired behavior rather than correcting undesirable behavior. I met people who drove over an hour away from Duluth and Ely to train here. It's fun to see the improvement in behavior of the other dogs and owners in class. I have always wanted a dog to walk on a loose leash without a pinch collar or shock collar to correct pulling and distractions. It is a challenge that I'm learning to overcome and am well on my way to have this with the skills and knowledge I've learned with Golden Paws. Every dog owner owes it to their dogs, their community and everyone around them to attend these classes!
