Grand Rapids K9 - Dog Training

Our first training with Tony was great! It was in our home, where our dog is familiar and comfortable. Within an hour I felt confident in new ways to redirect inappropriate behavior and feel in control of the situation rather than our dog being “in control”. It was clear Tony has plenty of experience and knowledge. I would recommended Grand Rapids K9 to anyone! Looking forward to continuing to work with them and seeing even more improvements with our dog.

Working with Tony has given us a clear vision that with hard work and consistency our 93 lbs bloodhound will be safe around people, dogs and our own family. While most of her behaviors have been reactive, lack of socializing and zero formal training from us due to Covid, Tony has given us the tools to work with her in each scenario. We are just in the beginning of our training however our dog has gone thur a few trainers and she seems to connect with Tony and his practices. The knowledge he has about the psychology of dogs and getting to the root of why dogs act the way they do is amazing, our dog truly wants to work for him and us. I would highly recommend Tony, we were at our end with the dog and now we know this will work and she will stay with our family

My dog Apollo has some anxiety issues and had bitten a neighbor, I was worried about his aggression and was considering putting him down because of it. Tony came out and evaluated him and assured us he's not an aggressive dog, just an anxious one. In just one session he has already helped us so much, he's teaching me how to properly distract Apollo when he starts getting anxious and how to train him in a way that won't confuse anyone. He is so patient and an excellent teacher. He will be coming back out to help teach my children, and continue to teach myself, how to keep training Apollo so we can all be part of making sure Apollo is comfortable and not a threat to anyone. I have already recommended him to others and will continue to do so.
