Sending our 9 month old puppy, Coco, to Michael has been a game changer for our family! I cannot believe the difference. We use to confine her to our mudroom because if we let her out she was like a bull in a china shop. We had gates everywhere. After training with Michael, we have no gates and Coco can be a part of the family. I am amazed everyday at the difference. I love that they do daycare and boarding also!

Mike and his team are a rare team that advocate for your furry family member above anything else. From our time observing (see below for the training experience) it was clear that Mike has a passion for helping dogs become the best version of themselves. It is clear that the fundamental training is the same across the board, but the learning experience is catered to the needs of the dog. Every dog is different and they respond to different levels of corrections. THE TRAINING EXPERIENCE: After two weeks of training, Mike sat down with my partner and I to talk about the fundamentals that our dog, Chou, had learned. Mike did start us off by saying that Chou was very stubborn and strong willed. We knew he was dominant in behavior, but we didn’t realize just how bad this level of dominance was. Watching Chou sit and stay in place was mind blowing in of itself…. add environmental distractions and still no craziness was just SHOCKING. While watching Chou protest and attempt to be stubborn was not surprising, it was surprising how Mike would correct this behavior and how well Chou was respective to the corrections. The foundation the team has placed in Chou is something we could have never done on our own and Mike has provided us with tools to help keep these commands engrained.

Mike, Joselyn and the entire team at Hakuna Matata are absolutely amazing! The trainers are not only knowledgeable but are extremely patient and kind, tailoring the training to fit the specific needs of each dog. They use positive reinforcement techniques that really make a difference, and you can tell they genuinely care about every dog they work with. Thanks to the Hakuna Matata team our puppy is happier than ever and we cannot wait to watch her continue to thrive. Highly recommend!! We will be continuing training here for many years to come.

Hakuna Matata dog training is an amazing experience for both dogs and owners. My very large and very energetic Bernadoodle puppy has turned into an actually well-behaved dog after Michael worked with him during a two-week stay. Michael truly understands how dogs think and was able to tap into what my dog needed as well as how we could best interact with him to keep all of us happy together.
