We decided to send our 4 month old German Shepherd to Hakuna Matata and we could not have made a better decision. Our puppy was very hyper and reactive before training and now she is a completely different dog (for the better)! Between her heal & walking ability, her temperament, her place skills (with/without distractions), recall, and many more, we could not be more pleased! Joselyn & Mike run an absolutely incredible program and are extremely knowledgeable. We were so thankful to receive frequent texts/pictures/video updates on how our pup was doing at training to give us peace of mind she was being well taken care of. On our pup’s graduation day, Mike ran through a ton of different things between dog psychology, training drills, taking her on a walk with us, and answering any questions we had. He asked that we don’t ever hesitate to reach out and that goes to show that 1) they truly care a ton about your dog and 2) they care about making sure the owners are happy and have everything they need to continue a great life with your newly trained furry family member. We will most definitely be returning to Hakuna Matata whether it be for day camp, boarding, or another board and train for our future pups. We cannot recommend them enough and thank the whole Hakuna Matata team for everything!

We enrolled our rescue German Shepherd, Ziva, in Hakuna Matata's two-week overnight training program, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. Ziva is ~two years old and needed structured socialization with other dogs in a safe environment and guidance to address any behavioral habits, as her background prior to adoption was unknown. The results in just two weeks far surpassed what my partner and I could have accomplished over several months. Thanks to the training, walking Ziva is now a pleasure instead of a challenge, and she is mastering place training. We also discovered she is a social butterfly and interacts well with dogs and humans of all sizes and personalities. From the start, Hakuna Matata impressed us with their communication and dedication to our training goals. Joselyn, one of the owners, spent nearly an hour on the phone with us, educating us about their program and general dog behavior. Once Ziva began her training, we received frequent updates, including photos and videos of her progress and playtime with other dogs. It also made our day when we caught glimpses of her in their Instagram stories. On graduation day, Michael took considerable time to thoroughly explain Ziva’s training and answer all our questions. He even invited a friend and their dog, a past graduate of the program, to join us and assist with some final training exercises. We highly recommend Hakuna Matata to anyone seeking professional training for their dog. Their commitment to "training for life" is evident in every aspect of their program. An added bonus is the opportunity for graduates to attend daycare or boarding, where their training can be reinforced. The positive transformation we’ve seen in Ziva has been remarkable, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience.

We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Hakuna Matata - they have been the best decision we’ve made with our dogs! We enrolled our two older dogs in their two-week board and train program, and the transformation we’ve seen is incredible. Both dogs now walk so much better on the leash, listen to us more consistently, and are far less reactive to unexpected noises. Hakuna Matata has also been integral in the integration of our dogs and cat coming together. The training truly made a difference in their behavior and our daily life with them. We also bring our dogs to daycare twice a week, which has been a fantastic addition. Not only do they get reinforcement of their training, but they also enjoy tons of playtime. They always come home happily exhausted! We love receiving regular photos and videos of our boys while they’re there—it’s such a nice touch to see them thriving. Joselyn, Mike, and their whole team are exceptional. They’ve stayed in touch with us post-training, offering incredibly helpful one-on-one sessions to ensure we’re successful at home. They even check in regularly to see how we’re doing, which shows how much they care about their clients and their dogs. We highly recommend Hakuna Matata to anyone looking for top-notch training and care!
