Happy Dog Training Academy

I cannot say enough amazing things about Bob and his team. I have a dachshund pup who was struggling with anxiety, nervousness, and aggression. Bob absolutely changed both of our lives with his training and I was more than confident/comfortable knowing he gave my dog the love and affection he would receive at home while boarding. I absolutely owe all of my dogs success and positive changes to Bob and can’t imagine using another trainer in the future.

It has now been almost a year since our dog, Ren, completed training at Happy Dog Training Academy. We starting looking at training options when 3 years of attempts at training our strong-headed terrier rescue had not yielded results - it was hard to even walk her due to pulling and leash aggression. Bob told us at our exit training "this is Ren's worst day, it only gets better from here!". I had a hard time believing it because her behavior was already so much improved. Nearly a year later, I can say for sure he was right! Ren walks and runs with me and the stroller and hardly puts tension on the leash. She can play fetch in our unfenced front yard (while supervised) and understands the boundaries. She is a calmer, happier dog (still our wild child at heart), and is proud of her role in our family. It's been like a snowball effect - the more we trust her behaviors and our ability to harness them, the more we invite her to do with us, the prouder and more included she feels, and the better she behaves! I was skeptical that a 3 week training with Bob could have this effect, but holy cow I was wrong! The investment we made in the program and our "working walks" upon her return home have come back to us in spades. Not only does she understand how to behave, but I understand how to work with her to achieve the desired behaviors. I cannot recommend Bob and his program more enthusiastically! Such a game changer.

Bob was amazing!! Augie loved him. Bob was extremely informative and we learned a lot of new information about training our new puppy, that we couldn’t have found elsewhere. I highly recommend Happy Dog Training Academy for all your training needs. Bob guided us on potty training, teething, and commands. He also provided us with products, resources, and continuous support on follows up after our session. We couldn’t be happier with the progress we are already seeing with our puppy and what’s left to come (: Thank you Happy Dog Training Academy!!!

We were referred to Bob and the Happy Dog Team in the Spring of 2023. At the time we had a very high energy, 1.5yr old, intact, male lab. We tried several self paced e collar trainings in the area and we just couldn’t make the training stick with our lab, Cotton. I had many questions before officially signing up with Happy Dog. Bob made the time to get on the phone with me on 3-4 different occasions to go through our questions about the training. He was always extremely responsive and helpful. We decided to do this training while we were on vacation for a few weeks in the summer. Bob was able to get Cotton to where he needed to be in roughly 2 weeks. We received constant updates every other day with progress on the training. Bob also came by our house to walk us through the training material to ensure we were on the same page. We are now roughly 5 months post training and Cotton is doing great. Cotton learned over 10 commands with Bob, but our biggest battle was walking at heel around downtown Charleston. I am happy to say that my wife is now able to (and loves) walking Cotton around downtown even with all of the distractions in the area. This training has allowed us to take Cotton more places with us, and has made our lives so much easier on a day to day basis. I can’t say enough good things about Bob and his team!
