Happy Pets Training

Christine of Happy Pets Training was incredibly helpful and professional in helping Layla (my pup) and I with her anxiety. Christine consulted with me and a trainer that I was working with to fully understand what was going on and figured out some deeper underlying issues, such as pain. She had some great recommendations for training and had some suggestions for what I should talk to my vet about. I really appreciate Christine’s knowledge and expertise and also how she encouraged a strong relationship with my vet. My already great relationship with Layla grew even stronger!!

Christine is an incredible trainer and I would (and already have!) recommend her to anyone asking for a trainer. Christine has such a deep knowledge of dog psychology and has picked up on so many subtle cues that have helped us make incredible progress with our dog. Our dog has anxiety which has presented as separation anxiety and reactivity when out in public (with people and other dogs). We have progressed from being unable to leave our dog for more than 10-15 minutes to leaving her for 4-5 hours, and from lunging at every dog to being able to walk past a pair of dogs without reaction. With Christine's help I feel more confident in identifying specific behaviors or triggers for our dog to prevent issues before they arise. Christine has been so kind and helpful throughout the whole process and showed a genuine interest in helping our dog succeed. One of the best parts about working with Christine is her accessibility. Christine told us during our first meeting that we could contact her anytime in between sessions with questions and she truly means it - Christine has always been more than happy to help in between sessions, and it was so helpful being able to get advice closer to real time. Additionally, Christine's vast knowledge about local pet services has been incredibly helpful; we know a recommendation coming from Christine is reputable and in line with her values, which has helped us fine the best services for our dog. I'm so happy we found Christine and cannot recommend her highly enough!

Two doodles..... out of control. Christy works on zoom remotely with the four adults and two high energy pups. She listens to our challenges and shows us solutions to help reduce/eliminate problem behaviors. We have observed vast improvements and steadily are working on problem areas. Today we worked on “the doorbell” which used to set off crazy, loud, obnoxious excitement and barking. By the end of the session, we had techniques to desensitize them from the trigger of the doorbell. I have complete confidence that this process will help us help our dogs be all they can be! Note: we had tried group training, in person training, etc... and Christy’s method is far superior because we work on exactly what issues we raise. Now we can put leashes on our dogs without getting jumped on, they come when called, they don’t knock us over on the stairs, etc. All done with positive reinforcement!
