HCC K-9 Dog Training

After trying several training programs before finding HCC K-9, I was honestly starting to feel discouraged about training my 3-year-old German Shepherd mix, Dunkin. Many of the previous facilities relied heavily on treats, but in real life you don’t always have treats on hand. What really sets HCC K-9 apart is their approach — they focus on building lasting skills, confidence, and clear communication between dog and owner. Even after completing just the basic obedience class, I already feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel. Dunkin has made noticeable progress, and just as importantly, I feel more confident handling different situations. Brian and Rachel have been incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and patient throughout the process. Dunkin has also been attending their Dog Academy program, which has been a fantastic complement to his training and has helped reinforce everything he’s learning. We’re really looking forward to the warmer weather so we can enjoy hikes and outdoor adventures without worrying about pulling or him running off. I’m so grateful we found HCC K-9 and highly recommend them to anyone looking for effective, confidence-building training.

I have nothing but great things to say about Brian and hcc k9 training. My dog and I are 3 weeks into his 6 week class and he is completely unrecognizable, he is like a completely different dog, from not being able to leave the yard due to fear and anxiety to interacting with other dogs and strangers walking perfectly on leash anywhere I take him obeying all commands and just overall gaining confidence in himself and in others thank you Brian and hcc k9 training of all that you havre done and continue to do for not only my pup but every dog that walks through your door

Brian is an incredible dog trainer who truly transformed my Doberman. He and his team go above and beyond—not just for the dogs, but for the owners too. Zuko absolutely loves Rachel and gets excited for every class. We started in the beginner program, and I immediately knew we’d be back for the advanced class. We completed our first 1:1 training session with Brian at H.C.C K-9 Dog Training, and I felt compelled to share how impressed I am with the experience. I recently adopted a 2-year-old Pitbull named Marty from my local animal shelter. Marty came with absolutely no background information, and it appeared that he had never been leash trained. On top of that, he had very little experience socializing with other animals and suffers from severe anxiety. Simply controlling him on a leash felt nearly impossible, and bringing him around other animals was completely out of the question. When we first entered the building, Marty immediately spotted another dog and had an instant meltdown. He began lunging and throwing a tantrum, and it took everything I had just to hold onto him. At that moment, I was full of anxiety and panic, unsure if I had made the right decision bringing him in. Brian stepped in right away, introduced himself, and immediately created a calm and professional atmosphere. He was extremely respectful and reassuring. He could clearly sense my anxiety and quickly put both Marty and me at ease. Before starting, he took the time to explain the training process, what to expect during the session, and how we would work toward improving Marty’s behavior. Brian worked with Marty in a way that was firm but also patient and controlled. He introduced a new prong collar and leash setup designed to help both Marty and me communicate better during walks. He carefully showed me how the tool should be used correctly and made sure Marty was introduced to it in a calm, controlled manner. With Brian’s guidance, the training process began. What happened over the next hour honestly amazed me. Within that single session, Marty learned how to properly walk on a leash without constantly pulling. He also learned to sit on command. Even more shocking, Marty was able to stay calm and begin ignoring the other dog in the room. This didn’t happen instantly, but Brian patiently coached both Marty and me through the process step by step. By the end of the hour, Marty had made more progress than I ever expected in such a short amount of time. Watching him focus and respond to Brian’s training techniques gave me a level of hope and confidence that I hadn’t felt before. I am extremely impressed with Brian’s knowledge, professionalism, and ability to read both the dog and the owner. The transformation in Marty within just one session was incredible to witness. Our goal now is to continue with 1:1 training sessions so that Marty can eventually transition into group classes and become more comfortable around other dogs. Before today, I truly believed I would never be able to safely bring Marty around another animal. Brian proved me wrong, and for that I’m incredibly grateful.
