Our dog Chopper, a 3 year old Rotty/Chow Chow/Chihuahua mix rescue had an unknown, but clearly rough/traumatic life before we adopted him at 8 months. He is loving and well behaved with the core (4) family in the home; however, he slowly showed anxiety and reactiveness to strangers and vehicles. We had biting incidents and at a point that we didn't know what else to do - so, my husband invested in Chopper and Rob. After (6) weeks - our reunion with Chopper went so well. You could tell he remembered and missed us (we all went to pick him up). We spent ample time with Rob learning basic training behaviors he worked on with Chopper and we were happy to bring him home. Rob did a great job with positive reinforcement with Chopper - Chopper was previously trained with a more negative approach (shock collar - incessantly, for minor infractions) so we as his owners were trained to correct the negative more than reward the positive. Rob's approach has allowed us and Chopper to experience a much more relaxed and positive environment post his initial 6 weeks. Chopper walks SO MUCH better, and we are able to have guests over with him crated and not barking incessantly. He is so much more responsive to our commands and more containable in those situations that he does get protective (i.e. strangers at the door). We used to take a very long time to get him crated, constantly shocking him higher and higher.....but now he gets minor corrections for a bark and he listens after only a couple "crate" commands. Good Boy Chopper!! I'm personally so thrilled with the difference. Learning the techniques from Rob allows me to be a better dog mom to Chopper. It's going to be continued work, he's not a "new" dog - he's still Chopper, but he's learning and we're learning and we are all much happier with the results. When Rob came to our home to visit and do an in-home training, it went exceptionally well. And Chopper remembered him and loved him up. Rob is the first "Stranger" that we've had in the house that Chopper was safe around. It was awesome to see the possibilities! Thanks Rob for not giving up on Chopper!

We were hopeless by the time we brought our rescue dog, Chopper, to Rob and HD Dog Training. Chopper is a sweet dog that had a rough early life in and out of foster homes. We took him in an he quickly became part of the family. However, the more comfortable he grew with us the greater the fear he had around other humans. His fear reactivity aggression escalated over two years to a point where he was impossible to take to the vet and his boarder politely recommended that we look for another boarding facility. We tried another "off leash" training facility but that too failed due to the trainer underestimating the complexity of Chopper's issues. In my search for another, more serious training program, I was denied at 6 facilities due to Chopper's bite risk despite each facility claiming they dealt with aggressive dogs. Luckily Google pointed me to Rob and HD Dog Training. The slogan on his website "Any Breed. Any Size. Any Temperament." proved to be true when I explained Chopper's issues to Rob during our initial Zoom consult. Rob's eyes lit up with excitement at the opportunity to work with a troubled pup. Two weeks later we arrived with Chopper for a 6 week board and train. While Chopper still has a long road to recovery ahead, he came home a changed dog. He loves training and happily trots by our side on walks. He seems happy when he does the right thing and is less likely to ignore us when he's hyper focused on a distraction. Rob gave Chopper and, more importantly, our family a foundation to build on to help Chop succeed. I highly recommend Rob and his team at HD Dog Training.

I had the pleasure to work with Robert regarding my young Malinois. Robert is reliable, efficient and has a lot of energy. He can find solutions to any problems and is always willing to work with your dog to help him get better. I am extremely demanding when I pay for any service and Robert delivered. I would definitely recommend him for most people and for any issues. Even if your dog has no issues, I would recommend training sessions to give your dog a structure. My dog would always come back tired from the sessions. I would also recommend him for boarding, which has been really a great service for me. My dog loves him, which means a lot because he's very suspicious towards any strangers. He's definitely the kind of dog trainer that should be hired year long for a dog given the benefits his training session provides. 10/10
