If life happens and you go too long between sessions you will lose all of the money you had to pay, and it’s not a small amount. They stopped responding to us and weren’t willing to work anything out. Do not recommend. To the owner - You’ll find it under my fiancé’s name Raisa. Also, you should have a couple of emails from me as I reached out on her behalf after we never received a response. To no avail… disappointing but factual.

We have taken our 1 y.o. Wirehaired Pointing Griffon (Bird hunting dog) to Josh and his team since he was about 6 months old. In that time, we learned the skills to raise a confident, well-adjusted, and well-behaved dog. I’ve also worked with Josh separately from the obedience curriculum on bird dog pointing and retrieving. What I appreciate most about the DogWorks curriculum is that there is just as much emphasis on “training” the owners as there is on the dog. Josh and his team go the extra mile to ensure that you understand the concepts and exercises before moving on to the next stage. If you’re expecting to drop your dog off one day and pick up a fully trained dog a week later, this is not for you. If you want to build a better relationship with your dog and learn skills that will apply to all your future canine pals, then I cannot recommend Houston DogWorks enough! Additionally, they have an awesome facility that is always kept clean and is in a convenient location (right off of 610 and Yale).

My wife and I got our first dog together and wanted to make sure he had some basic level of obedience. We wanted to make sure he can go out with us in public and not be a problem. Well Houston Dog Works delivered. Josh is an excellent teacher and dog trainer. The training has really helped with the bond between owner and dog. The results have been excellent and we highly recommend! We can't wait to get him off-leash trained!!

I have been a client at Houston Dogworks for over two years and recommend the training that Josh and Kennedy provide to anyone who is in need of behavioral help with their dog or simply wants their dog to learn some basic obedience and tricks. I have a high-energy, hard-headed Belgian shepherd mix who I found as a 4.5 month-old puppy. She had numerous issues (biting, uncontrollable on walks, not taking to potty training, etc.) that I tried fixing on my own to no avail. I felt like my dog was running my life and it was NOT FUN. After working with Josh, my relationship with my dog has gone from draining to rewarding. My dog no longer has the behavioral issues we started with, has obedience that is useable in the real world, and even picked up enough tricks to impress friends and family. I routinely get compliments on my dog's behavior in public and more importantly, I am confident to handle her without incident in all kinds of situations out in the world. You don't need to have a difficult dog for training with Houston Dogworks to be worthwhile, but if you are struggling with your relationship with your dog and other trainers aren't able to solve the problems, give Josh a visit. If you put in the work they WILL coach you to success.
