Hunter Canine Dog Training

When working with Hunter Canine, I was really excited to get a trainer that could pinpoint the issues I was having with my pup. He constantly barks at us at home for no reason, he is walked, fed, water, and his needs are all met including play, but he was still barking. My dog is also dog reactive on the leash and a bit of a puppy (with little social skills) when meeting other dogs off leash. We previously did dog classes with a small pet shop that Hunter criticized when we told him. Willa worked with us for 6 sessions. A lot of our sessions were scheduled, then rescheduled multiple times with some notice. In each session we walked around outside, specifically around other dogs to target the dog reactivity, but none of the skills given to us really worked for our pup. We were given a slip leash, then moved to a prong collar that helped for a little bit, but that didn’t solve many problems. We were also told we’d be given “homework” after every session, but never got any from our trainer. I think this company is developing and growing quickly, but heavily relies on board and train only, rather than clients that want to learn how to help their dog together and not send them away for a month, I couldn’t be away from my pup for that long. There were a lot of big promises that were not fulfilled and when we didn’t rebook any sessions we kind of just disappeared from Hunter Canine clientele

Our spicy girl, Bella, was in Hunter's board and train program and he did an amazing job with her. Bella is a quirky dog, but Hunter understood how to handle her. He has great knowledge in training dogs and their owners. Also, he was very responsive to all of our questions, he followed up with her training, and we see a lot of improvement in Bella. He was a pleasure to work with and we are very grateful for his help!

Enrolling our dog Kimchi in Hunter Canine’s Live & Train program was hands down one of the best decisions we've made. After trying group classes elsewhere that felt more like playtime than real training, we were blown away by the professionalism, expertise, and genuine care shown by the entire Hunter Canine team. Every trainer we've met has been knowledgeable, kind, and truly invested in helping both dogs and their owners succeed (shout out to Morgan!! <3). Since completing the program, Kimchi has made remarkable progress. Walks used to be a challenge—she would pull constantly and ignore commands—but now she listens attentively and walks are a joy. We're finally able to take her out and explore without stress or frustration. The transformation has been incredible, and it’s given us a new level of freedom and confidence. We’re so impressed and grateful for the experience that we’ve enrolled Kimchi in their Day Camp program to continue her growth, and we've even signed up our other dog for training. Hunter Canine has earned our full trust, and we couldn’t recommend them more highly.
