Hunter Canine Dog Training

I cannot recommend Hunter Canine enough! Cannoli is our 5 year old cane corso who was exhibiting quite a lot of fearful reactivity at not only other dogs but people as well. This made it difficult to take her out and go for walks as we were constantly on high alert for anything that could trigger her. She is quite strong. Her barking, lunging and strong reactions made me dread walking her. After we initially inquired, we met with Hunter twice, once onsite and once at our home. He was so great and knowledgeable. He really took the time to understand what we were going through. Confident that he and his team would be able to help us, he recommended their board and train program to not only to help with the behaviors but to serve as an emotional reset for her anxiousness and fear. Cannoli was paired with Matthew for our 4 week program. Matthew was such a great fit for her and we are so thankful for all the work he’s done and continues to do since she’s come home. During the 4 weeks he would regularly send updates with pictures and videos of what they were working on and how she was doing. Halfway through her program he did an in home lesson with us to help apply some of her training. During the visit we were shocked at how relaxed and confident Cannoli was. Now that she’s been home for a few months, there has been positive change in her reactivity and her overall demeanor. Walks and being outside are enjoyable and stress free. I feel more confident when handling her. The alumni classes are such a great tool for continued training and education. I highly recommend Hunter Canine to anyone and will be forever grateful for Matthew and his help in changing our lives in such a positive way!

We had the pleasure of working with Chloe for both of our dogs, and we truly cannot recommend her enough! She first worked with our extremely anxious and timid dog, Basil. After seeing such incredible results, we decided to trust her with our second dog, Sage, who is the complete opposite. Sage is full of energy, easily distracted, and constantly pulling on walks. Chloe adapted her training approach perfectly to each dog's unique personality and needs. With Sage, the transformation was incredible. She is now a well mannered companion who understands boundaries, walks politely on a leash, and responds reliably to commands. Throughout the month of the board and train, Chloe kept us updated with progress videos and regular communication. Even after the training ended, Chloe has continued to check in on both of our dogs, answer questions, and offer guidance whenever we've needed it. We are so grateful for Chloe and everything she has done for our dogs. We highly recommend Chloe and everyone at Hunter Canine!!

I have an almost 2-year-old female Rottweiler named Libby. She came from two previous owners, and over the time I had her, her reactivity grew not only toward other dogs but toward strangers as well. Walking her was always a struggle, and honestly, something I dreaded. She would lunge, bark, growl, pull... the whole nine yards. We could barely walk with other people yet alone another dog on the same sidewalk. She also had no house manners or obedience. We reached out to Hunter Canine, and after our in-person consultation, Hunter recommended the board-and-train program as the best option for Libby. He and the entire team took the time to explain the process, what to expect, and even worked with us financially to make it possible. Libby was paired with Matthew as her trainer, and I truly can't say enough good things about him. He constantly kept us updated, answered every question we had, and put so much time and effort into helping Libby work through her bad habits. Even from the update videos, you could see how much she was learning and how much she respected and trusted him. Before Libby came home, we had an in-person training session where Matthew walked us through everything we needed to know to keep up with her training and build a routine that would work for both me and Libby. At pickup, we spent even more time working hands-on, and he was incredibly clear, patient, and communicative with every instruction. What really stands out is that their support doesn't end after the program. They stay in contact if you ever need help, offer lifetime group training classes at no additional cost, and Matthew even offered to help with introducing Libby to new people or other dogs if I ever needed extra guidance. Overall, I couldn't be happier with our experience. Everyone at Hunter Canine genuinely cares about the dogs they work with, and the results speak for themselves. It was absolutely worth the investment, and I'll recommend them to anyone looking for help with their dog.

We truly can’t say enough good things about Chloe. Sabre came to Chloe before he even had a forever home (he was just waiting on us, obvi!!) Knowing he spent that time with her learning, growing, and being so well cared for gave us so much confidence when we brought him home. Chloe helped us transition Sabre into our family and was very intent on making sure he went to the right person (shows her care exceeds beyond just training). She made sure he integrated well into our home, helped him adjust to our other dog (who also graduated from Hunter Canine!), and gave us the tools and confidence to continue his training long after he came home. What stood out most was that Chloe’s support didn’t end when the program did. She has continued to check in, answer questions, and offer guidance whenever we’ve needed it. You can tell she genuinely cares about every dog she works with and wants them to succeed for life, not just during training. Sabre is confident, well-mannered, and such an incredible addition to our family. We are so grateful that Chloe was part of his story from the very beginning. We couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Hunter Canine Training, Hunter and Chloe are simply the best!!! Our adopted dog Wesley struggled with reactivity, leash pulling, barking , chasing and general overstimulation. After a thorough consult it was clear Board & Train was the best course and although we missed him, the change in Wesley and his behavior is remarkable!!! Chloe kept us constantly informed and sent videos of his incredible progress. They answer all our questions and take the time to make sure we know how to continue the training, address any issues and be consistent. Wesley now listens, enjoys his walks and has learned be less reactive. Our family is given the tools to have him live his best life and with Board and Train we have free training with Hunter Canine to continue his learning and correct any issues.
