Imprinted Paws

We sent our dog, Kody, to Imprinted Paws for a four-week board-and-train program. Before his stay, he had several behavioral issues, including fearfulness, nipping, destructive behavior, counter surfing, and pulling on walks. Since completing the training, Kody is like a whole new dog in the best way possible—he’s more confident and obedient. Val and her team were amazing, ensuring we had the right tools for success when Kody came home. The drop-in classes have also been incredibly helpful in reinforcing what Kody learned and keeping us engaged as handlers in his continued training. We sent our 1-year-old Mini Aussie, Chilli, to Val and her team at Imprinted Paws, and it was the best decision we've made as dog owners with young children and busy lives. Before training, Chilli was a sweet dog but very anxious around new people and had zero impulse control, often bolting out of the yard to chase squirrels or other dogs. She was also highly reactive to anyone outside of our family, especially when they came into our home or office. And walking her was such a chore with the pulling and abrupt stops to sniff. After just a month with Val, Chilli returned to us as a completely different dog. Her behavior has drastically improved—she no longer excessively barks at new people, she listens to our commands, walks on a leash so well behaved, and most importantly, she seems much more comfortable in her own skin. The tools and techniques Val provided have completely transformed our relationship with Chilli, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
