We have added many dogs to our pack of standard poodles over the years and I have trained dogs to show in breed and obedience. But our newest 3 year old addition has some behavior issues from lack of attention in her former home and we wanted some professional help from a certified behaviorist. Kathryn understood the problems we were describing and helped us make a plan, giving us clear advice that made sense and was achievable. Her knowledge of canine behavior goes well beyond training basic manners. We have made great progress with the new dog and Kathryn continues to guide us as needed. Kathryn is a rock start dog trainer! If I could give her 10 stars I would. I first worked with Kathryn through a friend who was working with her with her dog. We were taking our dogs on a week long trip together and wanted to make sure they could live in the rental house. In a one hour training session she had both dogs and owners prepped on all the different ways to handle the dogs together. Did I mention, she had not met my dog till that day and the other dog was not even a year old? Recently we purchased a new puppy (Tucker) and we had moved. We had our 3 year old male pug (who I mentioned above, Cooper). I reached out to Kathryn to work with Tucker on puppy training. From the first training at around 11 weeks she had me working right away with commands that he responded so well too. She gives you work to do with them and helped me order different things for the puppy. With the move, my older dog Cooper was marking at our old house and new house. Kathryn used her behavioral background and gave me insights on Cooper and what was going on. She is not only helping me with my puppy, she is assisting with my sensitive pug. I feel like any problem or concern you have with your dog, she can handle. She is a true dog whisperer and I highly recommend her!! Thank you Kathryn!!!

Finding Kathryn and In Us They Trust was the best thing that has happened for Charlie (lab/pointer mix). Charlie had another dog aggressively go after him as an 8 month old puppy in front of our home as we were returning from a walk. Unfortunately he has become very fear aggressive and protective. This behavior has worsened over time and I cannot have visitors unless Charlie knew them before the event. I didn’t know what to do since I have never experienced this behavior with my other dogs through the years. I finally researched behaviorists and decided to reach out to Kathryn based on the reviews, her experience and her obvious love of dogs and her desire to help them and their owners. Our first visit was so positive, I was in awe of her ability to gain Charlie’s trust within a few moments. This was also MY training! The first thing she did was reassure me that I was not the problem like other folks have said, but rather encouraged me to be more confident in my ability to work with Charlie. She teaches and guides you to help your pup adjust and deal with frightening situations with calmness and love. Charlie is very food driven so we have used that to our benefit-trust me, this has really worked! We have training exercises that we practice every day multiple times a day under Kathryn’s guidance. If you have any questions or concerns she will help you through it even if it’s not during a training session. She offers suggestions on good training “toys” and methods to help control your unique situation. Charlie has become less reactive to dogs on leashes and barking dogs in the neighborhood. We are still a work in progress but I can see such a difference in his behavior. Charlie and I are so much more confident and WE are becoming calmer and less afraid. If you and your canine friend are in need of some love and positive reinforcement, In Us They Trust should be first on your list to contact.
