Instinct Dog Behavior & Training, New Jersey and Philadelphia

These folks really know dogs! I brought my 8ish y/o rescue dog in to try to find a structured boarding solution for him that was safe for everyone involved. He is fear reactive and has issues with strangers. Amber worked with us on a program to get him more comfortable with facility and we were successfully able to board him this weekend. They have a great system set up to ensure they are managing the dog's various anxieties, and everyone is very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend!

I can’t say enough about how wonderful Instinct is. Our dog Mimi attended four weeks of ‘sleepaway camp’ for training to address her dog reactivity issues. Mimi is now a different dog who has learned skills to manage her fear and anxiety around other dogs. These skills have applied to so many aspects of our lives and has truly changed Mimi’s life. Before Instinct, we feared having friends bring dogs to our home or going on walks. Two months later, Mimi has not only learned commands but has had a total mindset shift when it comes to interacting with dogs. We are so beyond happy with our trainer Brianna who saw the big picture the whole time and helped quell our anxiety that this was going to be something Mimi suffered from forever. The facilities are spacious and clean, and the staff is very professional and truly put the dogs first always. We were also extremely happy with all the documentation and tracking through Trello and the amazing updates we got throughout Mimi’s stay. My only tiny bit of critique was that it’s sometimes difficult to get in touch with the general facility staff I.e front desk, kennel staff (never our trainer, she was always available). We will be bringing our other dogs to Instinct for training and love this place.
