Instinct Dog Behavior & Training, New Jersey and Philadelphia

I had a 10 day vacation planned and my regular boarder cancelled a month before my trip. I was left frantically looking for someone to take my 10.5 year old 78 lbs mixed breed. Instinct in Englewood was recommended by a professional trainer who I adopted my dog through. I am so glad I checked them out. They have an amazing facility and staff and took great care of him. I was able to enjoy my vacation without worrying. I will definitely be using them again.

I have two hard-to-board special needs dogs. One is very fearful. One is on the older side. And while I've used Instinct before as a boarding facility and been very happy with their services, I am especially grateful for the care my dogs received during a recent 6-day visit. My older dog developed a sudden bout of idiopathic vestibular disease while there. She went from being happy and playful to suddenly being unable to stand or walk. The staff caught it immediately, went to great lengths to get in touch with us, kept her safe and comfortable, and got her the emergency medical care she needed. And Suze, the owner, called us as well (even though she was on vacation) to make sure we were okay and to re-assure us that they would handle everything until we got back. Our dog could not have been in better hands, and I am so grateful to everyone who works there. I am also grateful they have staff on site 24 hours a day, because otherwise her condition wouldn't have been noticed as quickly as it was. And my other dog--the very nervous one--had a fantastic time. They took their time with him, respected his boundaries, and earned his trust. He came back completely happy and content (and this is a dog who once hid under the bed for three days because we bought a new lamp). If you have a special needs dog, this is the place. They will be safe, happy, and cared for.

I am grateful for Instinct. My dog Gorazo has anxiety about visiting the vet. He had a challenging experience when he was a younger dog. Suze, has worked with us and has helped him manage his anxiety. We had an emergency visit in November 2020 and he visited the vet without any concerns and cooperated with his care. Recently, he visited his behaviorist in NYC and again, he let himself be handled and cooperated with vet. I am grateful for the training, patience, and dedication that they have with him.
