Poppy was an excellent trainer and we enjoyed working with her. She was always on time and ready to support us with our goals. We learned some excellent tools from her to use with our rescue dog, Murphy! He has shown so much improvement. She even met us at a local Sniffspot to help with a safe introduction to another dog. Poppy is a wealth of knowledge and I highly recommend working with her and the team at Instict.

We have been working with Instinct Dog Behavior & Training Portland and specifically Kaysha Rogers-Schuler for training our dogs Pumpkin and Jinx, and she has been outstanding. Kaysha has helped significantly with reactivity on walks, including reactions to other dogs, birds, and general distractions. She is very thoughtful in how she approaches behavior and gives clear, practical techniques that actually work in real life situations. We have seen measurable improvement in focus, impulse control, and overall calmness. She is also great at teaching useful commands like leave it, as well as fun ones like two paws, which is honestly one of the cutest things ever when Pumpkin puts both paws up on the sidewalk. The training is structured but still enjoyable for both the dogs and the humans. Beyond the technical skills, Kaysha is just very easy to work with. Super knowledgeable, very patient, and clearly cares about the dogs she works with. She explains the why behind the training so you can continue reinforcing good behavior between sessions. Highly recommend Kaysha if you are looking for a trainer who can handle reactivity, build strong foundational behavior, and help you develop a better relationship with your dog!
