Island Dog Obedience

Maria, Thank you so much for loving and training Hana during her 2 weeks of boarding and training. It’s been a week she’s been back with us and can contest that Hana’s positive change. Your training boosted her confidence to not react/bark at dogs, explore and be less anxious. Most importantly, your training helped solidify her recall and heels (walking). A huge bonus for us was your daily videos of Hana and the command “load” to jump into truck/crate. It made our time away easier knowing she is well cared for and progressing with training. Again, we truly appreciate you loving and training Hana! We will be sure to call you or recommend you to anyone who needs to board/train their fur baby.

I am at a stage in my life where I have the chance to own a dog of my own. However, having a properly trained one can make the biggest difference with my experience. Maria and Emily did a wonderful job training my toy-sized Australian shepherd. She is now following my commands. I dictate when to play and when to chill. I now have her follow me during our walks instead of the other way around. I give her the command to lie down and chill so I can have friends over for DINNER without her constant interruptions. Island Dog Obedience starts the process but you as a dog owner will need to continue with the training after you get the puppy back for the next 2-3 weeks. My Zoey is now fully trained and is not only adorable but a true integral part of the family. I highly recommend them. I got my nieces and nephew a puppy of their own—a toy-sized Aussiedoodle. I look forward to have them train this new puppy after she is fully vaccinated. I have no reservation in recommending them.

My husband and I needed help with our 2 dogs ahead of the birth of our first baby, and I’m so glad we reached out to Island Dog Obedience! Our boys weren’t getting along which was really worrying us, but Kristi and Raya helped us to come up with a plan that worked for us. Our puppy, Theo, went for a 2-week board and train with Raya, while our 4-year-old Otis did some refresher lessons with Kristi as he already did board and train with a different company a couple years ago. Our biggest issue was that Theo wouldn’t respect Otis’ personal space, which annoyed Otis and led to altercations. The sessions helped our boys to have better impulse control and be near each other without annoying each other. It’s still a work in progress, but we’re so surprised with how they’re doing so far. The board and train really helped Theo with his overall obedience and allowed us to have better control over him. Kristi also helped us to set boundaries with them in our home so that we could feel safe once our baby arrives. We are so thankful to Raya and Kristi for helping us with our boys!

I knew when I got a lab/golden puppy, he was going to need some serious training to be a good inside dog. I found Island Dog Obedience after a quick google search and saw all the amazing reviews and knew I would use them when my puppy was old enough. We met Raya and I knew she was going to turn my little rascal into a well-behaved gentleman of society. She’s very knowledgeable and my dog loved her. She sent updates every day and the best pictures and instruction videos for me to look back on for practice. My boy is a changed dog! He really respects and listens to her but Raya warned he would test me and defy me because I let him get away with so much prior to the training… and she was right. But seeing how he was with her in all the videos, I know he has a good foundation and knows the commands now… I just have to be consistent and firm so he knows he has to listen to me as well. I’m a grateful for her and all the tools she’s give me and continues to check in and see how my guy is doing and continues to give advice. The 2 week board & train is worth every penny and I’m so grateful for Raya and Island Dog Obedience.
