Jane Trains

We met Jane after adopting our pup who had a lot of fear and past trauma. We needed help understanding all of her needs and how to best make her a part of our family. Jane helped us with those things and beyond... She is an incredible trainer with a heart of gold. We continue our work with her simply because it is so fun and valuable to our growth as loving pet owners! Update: Jane continues to be an invaluable support to our family. We will train and board with her for all the years we have a furry companion.

I adopted a 13 month old Shepard ,with no knowledge of her background or life before me. I was overwhelmed and knew i needed help for me to have a good life with this new girl. The first session i learned so much and that has continued every week ,i come home with new tools to create a harmonious life with Star. This has been life changing for me at 65 , i am so grateful to have found Jane, she is intuitive ,kind and keeps it simple so i can understand and implement it into our lives . Jane is a golden asset to the Taos dog-owner community. She will understand your dog’s needs through evaluation, then her training is tailored accordingly. We consider her prices to be extremely fair and generous. Miracles don't happen overnight, but even after a few weeks the difference was remarkable in Lacey, a previous shelter dog who was relinquished-by-owner and had zero socialization with people or other dogs. I have a young male schnauzer that is a nice dog except with other dogs—he is very reactive. I hesitated to find a trainer because of experiences I had over 50 years ago—in those days dog training was harsh sometimes bordering on cruel. I didn’t want that for my dog. Jane was recommended and I am glad I followed through. After several sessions there is progress. The dog is listening to me—new behavior! Sometimes people don’t realize the training is actually for the owner. I’ve had to adjust the way I interact with the dog. Jane is a great trainer—my dog loves her. Training is an investment in the long-term wellbeing of the dog—totally worth the time and invested resources. I would recommend Jane to anyone who wants the best for their dogs.

Jane is a game changer! We acquired an older mare and needed some help with a plan to help her acclimate to us. Jane spent the first hour and half giving incredible insight into the horse’s mind and resulting behavior. Her advice was plentiful and wise. I now have hope and direction when before I had none. We will absolutely continue working with her, as she is flexible in how much you need her. She has a wealth of education and information on animal behavior, and has her own horses so she knows her stuff. I cannot say enough good things about her skill both working with the horse as well as with its owner. Her style is not to dominate but to achieve a happy, relaxed, trainable and trustworthy horse. Wouldn’t you rather have that than a fearful, skittish, beaten down one? If you are feeling discouraged about your horse or want to make strides in an already good horse relationship, she will help you make that happen. Call her!
