John Soares K9 Training

We had an incredible experience with John Soares K9 Training , he not only helped us understand our Dobermans behaviors but also provided effective techniques specific to our dog. He is beyond knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to his craft. He has an unparalleled understanding of the breed's unique characteristics and provided tailored training that brought out the best in our dog. Not only did he focus on training our dog but has also educated us on proper training techniques, communication, and understanding our dog's needs. John is an absolute genius and we would absolutely recommend him to anyone seeking top-notch guidance for their dog.

I had high expectations for John as a dog trainer and boy did he exceed them! It’s clear how much he not only understands how dogs’ minds work but he deeply cares for them and adjusts his approach for your dog, and helps you also understand, just as he did with my Doberman Zoë. People literally stop and stare when I’m out with her on walks or in any situation where she is clearly calm and listens to every command no matter what’s going on (and I live in NYC so it can be chaos around). His consistently incredible results are worth every penny. We have recommended him to all my friends who have dogs and we will continue to do so! I have never written a review good or bad in my life, but felt I needed to share my experience with John. Over the years I have had several dogs including 2 German Shepherds and a Doberman as well as my wife grew up with Rottweilers so when we got our latest addition, an actual European working line Doberman naturally I thought no problem...right? By the time he was 7 months and 70 lbs of lean muscle it was clear I was going to need help. He pretty much dominated my wife and child whenever he seemed fit and no matter what we tried it wasn't working. We tried weekly in home lessons with little to no results, that's when I contacted John. We sent our baby boy to John's board and train program, and while it was hard to be without him for several weeks all I can say is WOW!!! John is truly a master of what he does, and its clear to see it's a labor of love for him. The transformation in our boy is truly remarkable! My 9 year old actually asked my " Daddy are you sure you got the right dog back" John does his magic and then sets you up for success with the follow up session upon return, he shows you what you need to know and how to apply it. We are often stopped in public by people commenting how well trained Thanos is. My wife walks him and commands him with total control and confidence now . John is truly remarkable, his facilities are clean and well kept. You can see the genuine love he has for animals, my dog is always happy to see him. I really can't thank him enough for what he has done for our dog and our family! We will definitely be sending Thanos back for advanced training when he's older. I have already sent friends to John, and now I'm recommending him to everyone who reads this. You will not be disappointed!! Thanks again John!!

If I could give 10 stars I would. I sent my 2 year old working line German shepherd “ Motley “ to John. Motley had problems with pulling, jumping and showing aggression towards other dogs. So going out in public was always a struggle and was not enjoyable. I sent Motley to Johns 4 week board and train program. Throughout the 4 weeks John updated me with videos to show motley’s progress. Me and my mother were so impressed. Due to johns wizardry, we can now enjoy every moment with Motley. Guests can now come over to the house and be greeted by Motley in a calm matter. John Soares K9 is the best! I’ve recommended everyone to use John. It doesn’t get better than John Soares K9.

My experience with John Soares and his dog training program was nothing short of amazing. I own a one-year old male Labrador retriever and needed some help with training and correcting some of his behaviors. My dog had gotten up to 90 pounds, is very strong, and began to pull, jump up on people, play bite, and chew up household items. I recently had surgery on my ankle, and his constant pulling on the leash was becoming a problem for me. After researching a few different board and train programs I decided to give John a call. John was very thorough in explaining the program and costs to me. After an initial evaluation with John and my dog at his training facility, we both agreed that he was a good candidate for the Level 1 on-leash board and train program. My dog trained with John and his team for five weeks down at his South Jersey location. Throughout the training John would provide me weekly updates on how everything was going, and also sent a few videos of my dog progressing through various training exercises. Whenever I had a question or needed to speak to John directly he was always available, and I felt very comfortable leaving my dog in his care for the five weeks. At the end of the five weeks I was extremely satisfied with the progress John had made and the results overall. All of the issues my dog had been having have been corrected, and John provided instructions for me on how to continue to reinforce the training at home. When I brought my dog back for the first of four follow up sessions with John, my dog was so excited to see John and clearly formed a strong bond with him. I would highly recommend John Soares for any dog training needs, and I am already planning to send my dog back to John this summer for his Level 2 off-leash program. John did a phenomenal job with my Lab, and I am very thankful for the work he put in to help train him.
