What is the average length of stay for your Board & Train program?
The average is approximately 2.5 to 3 weeks. Most dogs require more time because by the time the dog owner is calling us, the behaviors have usually gotten pretty bad. We aim to reassure our clients that we provide regular video progress updates as their dog advances through our program.

Do your board & train programs include follow-up lessons?
Yes! There are a total of 4 follow-up lessons included with our program. The first one is completed when you pick up your dog. The remaining 3 must be completed within 2 weeks of picking up your dog. Each session is approximately 20 to 30 minutes but also varies according to the questions being asked.

Every dog is unique and a number of factors would have to be considered including history, temperament, drives, reactivity, who the handlers are, and what the dogs are being trained for, to name a few considerations.

We offer board and training with four follow-up lessons at our facility. We also offer certain specialized private lessons at our facility for those competing in the sport of Schutzhund.
We occasionally offer in-home training for our existing clients who have already completed one of our board & train programs but require additional specialized assistance for their pets that we are already familiar with.

Before John walking our dog was stressful- now we can walk our dog on a loose leash with him constantly checking in and listening to commands. Before, we had tried several obedience classes which resulted in our dog listening when he knew he was getting a treat and ignoring us when he was more interested in something else. Now, our dog is focused on us looking for direction and is consistent with recall. We were so nervous sending our dog away for 4 weeks, but John made us feel comfortable and was responsive the entire way. At follow up visits our dog couldn’t wait to see John and just loves him. We can’t recommend him enough— he has made our relationship with our dog the best it’s been and our dog is happier than ever knowing what we’re asking from him. I have complete trust in John and would highly highly recommend!!

Calling John and his team spectacular is an understatement! I brought in my 5yo Corgi who had severe resource guarding and aggression with dogs/people, as well as an extensive bite history. I thought all hope was lost for my dog, but John and his crew blew that belief out of the water. I could not believe the drastic change after a month of training. After assessing the dog's habits and temperament, training is catered specifically to each dog, so there is no generic training. I learned not just about my dog, but about myself and how to properly handle him. My dog is a lot more receptive to my commands and is no longer reactive to people or other dogs. He also is more comfortable with people being around him eating. I absolutely cannot thank John enough and i would recommend the service 100x. If you have a difficult dog, no matter the severity, please do yourself a favor and give John Soares a call!

The sessions with John after the board and train have taught me so much about how Axl thinks and how to communicate clearly with him, so I can be a better handler.
