Upon meeting John within a few minutes you completely understand why he has been so successful in his dog training business. He has an extremely personal, down to earth easy way about him that makes you feel you have made an excellent choice right off the bat(John's pedigree both internationally and domestically is unsurpassed!). When it comes to the dog training itself my wife and I can't express how pleased we are with the results of John's basic obedience program. We have a beautiful female English Mastiff that "was" quite a handful until John and his carefully chosen staff put her through the paces of obedience training for about a month at his south Jersey facility. She is a lovable, very affectionate "mush" but at 150lbs and 12mos., she was impossible to manage, especially for my wife and 3 small children. The turnaround we have seen in our dog is beyond amazing and she is now a pleasure to take care of. Her problems were all the typical dog owner woes of pulling hard during walks, not listening at all, jumping up on house guest etc., etc.. The breaking of her numerous bad habifs and ability to listen and comply is more than we could have hoped for. Even my children ages 7,9 and 11 can now participate in caring for her. I can't say enough about what John and his staff have done for our dog in such a short time. Unfortunately l can only give 5 stars, John and his team deserve 10! The follow up lessons that come with the training program do not disappoint, John works with you one on one and gives you comprehensive insights that help you understand your dog better and solidify the positive behavioral changes that have been put in motion. Working with John is an absolute pleasure. He is not only extremely knowledgeable, passionate, professional and hands on but has a true gift for working with dogs. We sought his guidance when looking for a protection dog for our family. From the moment we visited his kennel he helped us find the perfect breed and dog for our family. He also selected a dog that would be a good match for a home that already had a French Bulldog. John also took our French Bulldog in for a month board and train as well and was able to give him further training which was very helpful as French Bulldogs are very stubborn, his lessons have helped him a lot. John's a true professional and has guided us every moment since we got our dog and has been accessible to us and our dogs through every step of integrating our dog to our home and family. We highly recommend him and his team and we couldn't think of working with anyone else!

A colleague recommended John to help us train our 4 year old 70 # male rescue. We had already worked with several other trainers, and although we made some progress, we did not feel confident we could control him when other dogs were in his line of site. The minute we met John we could tell he was incredibly knowledgable about dog behavior and human behavior and he was both kind and patient with us. His instructions are clear and simple, so both dog human understand what is expected to execute the lessons to gain a trusting, loving and rewarding relationship. We now have a confident, happy hound and we are no longer stressed on our walks. After his 4 week stay, which consisted of 10-12 lessons a day, (and 2 baths!) we have had 3 individual sessions (one more to come) with John himself. The lessons helped to reinforce all that Ringo learned and taught us how to read Ringo’s behavior, to know how he’s “feeling” and act accordingly to maintain control and keep him safe. John is the absolute best! I have a Rottweiler that I needed to be trained as a service dog with additional unique needs and requirements. When I adopted her, my dog was 18 months old, had no formal obedience training, and came from an entirely different part of the country where she lived in open space with virtually no outside distractions or activity. She would now be living in an area with lots of activity, busy streets, wild animals, many other dogs, small children and regularly be out in public with a petite 80+ year old woman who would not be able to handle her with anything other than voice commands. She not only needed to be trained to handle all of these circumstances, but to respond to other family members living in the home and helping to care for her. I spent considerable time seeking out and speaking with many top trainers throughout NY, NJ, PA, CT and DE. All of them told me about their programs, except John. John listened to what we needed, then asked to meet us and our dog to assess if she would able to achieve the goals we desired. Within a few minutes of meeting the dog, John identified her specific personality, informed us of breed traits that he would work on to avoid possible future issues and clearly explained his plan and timing to work with her on a personalized program to achieve the desired goals. He even explained to us that, while he was confident he and his team could achieve these goals, the timing could change by a few weeks depending how she responded to daily training, as he progresses each dog individually based on their comfort and would not push, overtrain or stress out a dog just to meet an exact timeline. Amazingly, she was so happy with John and his team that they actually accomplished everything in less time than normal. But, John doesn't just focus on the dog. He focuses on the people too! He takes as much time as necessary to make sure you know everything you need to know to work with your dog and the both of you are comfortable together. He is even happy to have follow ups if there is anything you want help with. Our dog has lost none of her loving, enthusiastic personality, yet is perfectly trained.
