I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate the training and service Juan and Sarah provided. I had a short period of time to get the training and obedience my dog needed before traveling for the summer. JPK9 stepped up to plate and made time for me and my doggo at a competitive price when no others would. The improvement in behavior on and off leash is incredible!! My friends and family are beyond impressed. Whenever I’m in town I will definitely find the time to link up with Juan for the group sessions they put together.

We utilized JPK9 Academy this year with our 10+ yr old female rescue pit bull mix who loves people, but had severe dog reactivity issues, as well as some obedience issues that we had been contributing to over the 8 years we've owned her. I used to only walk her in the wee hours of the morning, to avoid people out with their dogs and felt we couldn't take her places where we knew other people would have their dogs because of her level of reactivity. Juan was very professional and started wtih an evaluation to see what her issues were to determine how much training she would need in order to help not only her, but us as well. We chose the 5 week boarded training program, which included both group and individual training lessons with her. Group lessons were usually in a park setting with other clients and their dogs, as well as group walks downtown. Individual lessons were also in a park setting. It has been an informative and educational experience working with him, and meeting other clients with similar issues. The group lessons gave us the ability to see her progress while she was being boarded/trained as well seeing the progress of others. During lessons, Juan maintained a friendly and professional manner, always patiently encouraging me, but also answering questions and taking the time to explain excercises a dozen times if necessary. At the beginning of every lesson we talked about whatever I was struggling with and practiced until I felt more comfortable with the exercise. It was clear that Juan genuinely cared whether I was grasping the concepts and could repeat the exercises on my own once Bluesy was home. Most importantly, Juan did not make promises he could not deliver. He was honest every step of the way. I no longer dread taking Bluesy for walks, knowing I have the tools necesssary to control her when the need arises. I would and do highly recommend JPK9 Acadmey's training program for animal reactivity and obedience issues. It has been money well spent!

My dog got into an incident where our dog was now labeled as a dangerous pet. Animal control demanded that we find a dog trainer for train our dog. There weren't many options out there since many trainers would not train dangerous dogs. Luckily, we found Juan. I was afraid that our dog, being 10 years old, would be too old to change his ways. Within the 8 weeks of training, it was amazing to see the shift in attitude with my dog and the other 4 dogs (couple of them had incidents themselves) we trained with as we progressed with the training. My wife and in laws would talk about the huge difference with our dog and how much more he seemed attached to me. Juan was also very flexible with our training sessions. We had to deal with extreme heat temperatures and bad air quality due to California fires throughout the 8 weeks. There were several training reschedules and Juan was very responsive and easy to work with. I'd definitely highly recommend his training for any type of dog.
