K-9 Defense

I don't have enough good things to say about the team at K9 Defense and would highly recommend them to anyone. We were at the end of our rope with our dog and had almost given up but they completely changed our lives. We had been struggling with aggression and bite issues with our 3yo GSD/ACD mix - our home was always tense and we felt hopeless we'd ever have an easy, happy relationship with our dog. We'd worked with other trainers in the past that told us our dog was a bad dog and gave us advice that just made the issues with our dog worse. We really appreciated the training philosophy at K9 Defense. We boarded our dog with K9 Defense for ~8 weeks and got regular updates on his progress and when we came to get him he was a changed dog! He still has his personality but was clearly in a much better place mentally. The transfer sessions were awesome, the team answered all of our many, many questions and never made us feel like we were stupid or a burden. You can tell that every trainer at K9 Defense wants what is best for the dog and they never treat you like you're just a dollar sign. We will be forever grateful for everyone at K9 Defense - Mallory, Faith, Chris, George and the many other trainers that helped us!

I just got my dog home after nearly 8 weeks with K-9 Defense and I would like to highly recommend them. I brought my dog to K-9 because she was highly reactive to other dogs and to some people. I was very nervous in the beginning to leave my dog with them for a board and train but I am so happy I did and am grateful for their work with her. She now is very well behaved, is focused on me and has learned a bunch of new skills (and tricks!). I worked closely with Mallory for most of my sessions and she was incredibly knowledgeable and worked with me to learn what I need to do now on my part to maintain my dog's good behavior. What I really like about K-9 Defense is they ensured that I was comfortable taking my dog back and ready to handle her with multiple training sessions before I took her back home. They taught me how to work with her and how to act to garner the most positive behavior from her. Now that she is home, I am still working with K-9 to learn how to best work with her and also to continue to hone her skills and behavior. I am incredibly grateful for them and all their hard work and highly recommend them. I just wanted to add an update that it’s been over a year and I’m still very happy with the training Bijou received at K-9 Defense. They are also just incredible people. We asked to go back for a quick refresher (for us not the dog) and they were so understanding and willing. Just phenomenal business with phenomenal people and a great cause. We’ll be fans of K-9 Defense forever !
