We recently purchased a puppy when our elder dog had passed away to fill the void our boxer middle aged dog was feeling. We thought this would be a really great idea since he was very lonely (or so we thought). We were so eager to introduce the two of them together. However, when we brought the puppy home he was not accepting of her at all. In fact, he tried to nip at her several times and attack her. So immediately I called Clare to come to my rescue. Only 3 at home private dog lessons and applying all of her practices and tools she taught us that now our boxer and new puppy have become the best of friends. We even have worked on new manners with our boxer she taught us.I never thought you could “teach and old dog new tricks” but Clare worked miracles for our household and proved that wrong! I highly recommend her!!!!

Kudos to the woman who we ran into at Eden Mill back in August 2021 who recommended Clare’s classes!! Thank you! Our German shepherd was totally out of control as we passed this woman also with her quiet German shepherd. Clare is the best! Very patient, safe, and wise!! We started with her teaching in October 2021, and boy what a blessing. We look forward to each class and soak in what she teaches our dog and us! I am so happy with the progress that my 7 year old border terrier, Max has made with the training he has received at K9 college dog training. Clare and her wonderful staff understand the individual needs of each dog and work with you one on one (the classes are small which is a real asset). I learned a lot from watching how they handled Max who is very leash reactive with other dogs. They worked with me so that I knew how to handle him. Much progress has been made and we have now moved on to scent work. I would highly recommend Clare and her team for any age dog and any situation. From the moment you talk to her on the phone even before the classes start, she is finding out about your dog and giving advice. Max and I are so grateful we found K9CDT!!

When looking for a class for my dogs, I always want to make sure I'm learning from someone who has experience in multiple venues. I love dog sports and I particularly enjoy connecting the dots between activities. For example, if we're teaching a sit stay in class, how would this skill be applied in agility? In Obedience? Clare not only has the knowledge to make those connections, but she also shares that information with her students which allows her to inspire them to think bigger than basic obedience. However, what I appreciate most about Clare is her dedication to both the dog and handler. Her faith and belief in her students and their dogs cannot be matched, and that confidence means the world when you feel like you're struggling. I've enjoyed my classes with Clare and will continue to recommend her to others!

We love K9CDT! I started group classes with Clare when my energetic Irish Setter puppy was 5 months old and quickly becoming too much to handle at 50lbs with no training. Before we even started classes, she talked with me on the phone for about 20 minutes, asking about his personality, issues I was having, etc. and gave me techniques to try at home. All of which helped me see improvement very quickly. I knew then that she would be a great teacher and resource and that we needed to sign up! She has given us tools that have helped channel his energy, improve his focus and behavior, and strengthen our bond overall. Clare is personally invested in each dog and owner relationship and wants to make sure you have the right tools to prepare for many different situations you might find yourself in when out and about with your dog. She takes the time to understand your unique challenges and give you specific training methods that cater to your dog's needs -- and all are focused on positive reinforcement and helping your dog figure things out for themselves so that they WANT to listen, rather than forcing them to do things. The group class settings are also a great way to watch, listen and learn from other owners who may be having different challenges with their dogs. All of it is a great learning experience. I have since signed up for other classes outside of obedience training and have worked with her on Scent Work and Tracking, which are fun activities that my dog really enjoys. He gets better and better every week. I highly recommend Clare and K9CDT!!
