We bought my mom a 9 month old puppy. He was impossible for her to walk, to train. We all tried everything. Matt and Stew over at K9 Learning were able to transform him into a amazingly good dog. While they were training him my mom was diagnosed with cancer. Matt became more like family to my mom, checking on her and offering to help with Shadow (the pup) on her treatment days. Shadow is like a new dog. He still thinks stealing socks is a fun game but he will "leave it" as soon as you make eye contact and give the word. I am impressed not only with the training but with the care and compassion they show the owners. Sadly my mom lost her battle with cancer and we now have inherited Shadow, I am thankful every morning when I am now walking TWO dogs that Shadow got the training he (and we) needed. Matt of K9 Learning Academy was instrumental in helping us with Prince our 2 yr old Lab/Husky mix we adopted. Not only did he train Prince with various behavior techniques both inside and outside the house, including walking , interacting and control behavior but he explained why dogs do what they do and how to assist the dog in adapting to your lifestyle. Most importantly he taught us as owner how to “behave” lol. We highly recommend Matt and his team for anyone who wants to improve their relationship with their dog!

I've been trying to have my Australian Shepherd trained since a month after I got her due to my disability . K9 learning academy was the 4th trainer I've tried. All 4 Paws had their auction in October. I bid up until the last second to win this auction, and paid $450 for the 7 lesson basic training package normally $850. Matt Dellaira came to do the evaluation, and he said my dog would be great as a service dog , and that she should be easy to train. Also said it would take months to complete . I agreed to pay an additional $2150 for that training , which is normally $3000. The morning training was supposed to start , Matt text , and asked me to bring her to the kennels where he does training . He felt she would do great with board & train. I was told it would be 4 weeks and 5 home visits for her to be trained . For 3 weeks I thought she was being trained as a service dog ( even verified it with Stu who was doing most of the training ). First week no training was done according to Stu. Second week they worked on sit and stay , which she already knew. By the end of the 3rd week , Matt said they didn't see my dog having any of the reactions outside ,and difficulties walking her which has been my main complaint. Matt observed her at my house . He said he could tell she was reactive because he saw me walking her . It's common with Aussies. Now after the third week he acted like it was my fault that she has anxiety and lack of confidence. In fact when I said that he was acting like this was all my fault he said " it is !" . I reached out to my vet , and she said her anxiety was in no way my fault. Matt also said he thought my dog had pannus , an autoimmune disease of the eye. Vet confirmed she does not have pannus. I was concerned about that for 3 weeks! Matt should not be diagnosing dogs with illnesses like that !!! During the board & train I received a few videos by text with no explanation. Communication was not good. In the last video I could see she was visibly nervous being out with Matt. But yet he said her anxiety was my fault. That's gaslighting. Making me feel like the crazy one. Stu also said my dog didn't want to come out of the kennel for training . For some reason my dogs anxiety has gotten worse since I brought her home. I had a difficult time trying to get her to go outside for a walk for the first time ever. I ended this so called training after the 3rd week because at that point there was no way she could even pass the good citizens test ! Matt said the service dog training would take much longer. I was lied to so much. I did receive a refund from Matt. He's not capable of training true service dogs , and if so it would cost much more. I have dealt with a lot of people. Matt takes the cake for arrogance , that's for sure ! Matt claims he's been trained by Joel Silverman. Since 2017, Joel Silverman has offered a 5 day dog trainer certification class . That's the training. Matt, age 32, claims he has 15 + years of experience , training 3800 + dogs since 2018 with 5 trainers. The math ain't mathin' .

We rehomed a very large Bernadoodle named Wally and discovered he had bad anxiety especially with strangers. He also showed what I feared could be some aggression toward our other dog. Wally also had never been on a leash so trying to walk a 100lb dog was impossible. I reached out to K9 Learning Academy and spoke with Matt who then came to my home to assess the situation. After meeting Matt and being confident of his expertise with dogs he set a plan in motion. I couldn’t be happier with the changes in Wally! I can now walk him on a leash, his anxiety has decreased immensely. He no longer barks at strangers on our walks. He behaves so much better when we have company in our home. If you have a pet that needs training and with Matt’s guidance as well as doing your homework with your pet you will be amazed at the change!! Thank you Matt for your patience and all your help! Matt is great. I left my 2 1/2 Bernedoodle with him for two weeks for additional training. Walking with a leash and jumping mainly. I couldn't believe the transformation. He's more calmer and walks great with the head collar and doesn't chew on his leash or pull. My husband can now take Murphy for walks while on his mobility scooter without him pulling. Matt has been to my house a couple of times to check up on us and to give me a few more tips. This was the best thing I have done for both Murphy and myself .
