Although it's an hour drive for me to K9 Mastery in Bastrop, I still chose this particular boarding facility for my two old fur babies for a few reasons: #1.) I loved that there were options for the type of environment in which they'd be boarded. For me, with them both being senior dogs, the BUNGALOWS were much more peaceful options where my cranky dogs could choose to go inside or outside at their leisure, and where they could lay out on their personal, enclosed "porch", which gives them a peaceful view of a giant run yard. Inside, it's fairly roomy for them and is air conditioned, so they can cool off, if they need to. (Christie paid special attention to whether or not she felt they were staying out too long on certain days, and would tend to them, locking them inside when - in particular, my black lab was insistent on laying on the porch, but looked too hot. ) 2.) Plenty opportunities included for getting out of their enclosures daily, even if you don't buy the extra walks. Their potty breaks are 4x/ day in a separate yard.... keeps them from being confined too long. 3.) These are DAMN good people - a small, honest, hard-working family business with tonnnnns of experience juggling several animals that they love with all their hearts, including ones that other humans had long- since given up on.
