K9 Role Models

I have no way to start this than to say that working with Vanessa changed our lives. Yes, that sounds dramatic, but it’s the truth. We have always wanted to adopt a #rescue and Bella came into our lives at the end of August 2023. She was the sweetest lab/pit mix, but labeled a flight risk and in serious need of leash manners. When I say I DREADED taking her for a walk because she would pull like crazy, I was actually nervous she would drag me down the street. She basically took ME for a walk. I was so discouraged. I could tell immediately after our first meeting that Vanessa knew what she was talking about and I was tentatively optimistic. Originally we started with just the on least program, but as I saw her improve and start to learn how to follow my commands we added in the off leash training. My mind is blown EVERY TIME we go outside and I get to throw the frisbee or spend time as a family and she is just roaming around in the yard. She isn’t reactive anymore, her recall is amazing and we get so many compliments every time someone comes to the house that she is so well behaved. Vanessa was so helpful to make sure we were successful by giving clear homework to work on through the week and I still go back and train with Bella when I feel like she is getting a little too bold. Ha. But I don’t stress about taking her to the vet, seeing another dog on a walk or hearing a delivery truck pull up the driveway. She happily wiggles her but and shows hilarious self control until she gets a head scratch and stays right with us. If you are even a little on the fence, the answer is yes. You need to hire Vanessa. She’s amazing.

Vanessa is AMAZING, Our 11 month old dachshund was so scared on a leash & I had worked with him since 8 weeks old with various harnesses, halters with very little progress. We signed up for on leash training (5week program) & after 3 training sessions, yes 3 Stanley is a pro on a leash. He happily goes everywhere now & his reactivity is zero ( an added bonus). He is a very smart boy who has all 3 AKC trick titles prior to this training but leash manners, zero until Vanessa. She based her training for Stanley on his personality & the results are honestly above our expectations. Stanley is better for having Vanessa 110%

We have a, now 1 year old Pomsky, Mojito who has been very rambunctious and super stubborn when trying to teach him obedience and even just listening to us. He would sneak through the backyard fence and run around the street and very close to the road. He would not come back until he felt the need to do so, or until we enticed him with a treat, even that didn’t work at times. We knew that we needed help, especially with already having our hands full with a walking 1 year old boy also. We reached out to Vannessa and she responded promptly. We had a consult and of course Mojito was NOT on his best behavior. He even ran through the fence, not once but twice! We ended up having him stay for 2 weeks to get ongoing support for obedience training. I am super glad that we did because no Mojito listens on and off leash. Because of Mojito’s anxiety, Vannessa taught us that he ends up not knowing what to do so he runs around like crazy, which does not help his anxiety. With us thinking for him and giving him something to do, like lay on his cot, his anxiety has also gotten so much better! He is a whole new dog, same crazy personality, but much more obedient and less of an anxious ball of fur! Thank you Vannessa for all of your help, we all appreciate it so much! ❤️

I love Vanessa and her team. My dog is Aggy. Female, now 3 years old, 55 pounds. Shepherd mix. December 2022 Aggy stayed with K9 Role Models for 2 weeks. Aggy was 2 years old. Wonderful experience. It's now August 2023. Aggy is a rescue and she and I had only been together for 8 months, but I want her to get the proper training. Aggy was a BIG PULLER with ALL walks no matter the length of time. Aggy also was would go crazy in the car whenever she saw a motorcycle, bicycle, other cars, etc. She always sits in the back seat but it was scary not that she would hurt me, but just how out of control she got and the type of barking she would do just by seeing and hearing all of these things. I also was starting college full time early January in my home online and was concerned about how Aggy would behave while I was in classes with barking, etc. Aggy came home to me a different girl. All of my major concerns with the in home barking, aggressive pulling while walking, out of conrol in the car behavior, were GONE. Yes, I have to continue to use all the skills that Vanessa and her team taught me and still do in order for Aggy to continue to flourish as my best friend and companion. All relationships in life are ongoing work. I highly recommend K9 Role Models for all your dog and puppy needs. They do what they say they will do. They care.
