K9 Sensei Dog Training & Boarding

Rick is one of the most amazing people I've ever met! He's so calm and grounded and he's TRUELY a dog lover. Positive energy just radiates from him and all the dogs he trains. Highly recommended for training and boarding! When boarding, Rick and his staff are in constant contact with you and your dog. It really puts you at ease and you know that your dog is safe and being well taken care of when you're away! He's done wonders with our dog, Maizy. He taught her to be confident in herself, around other people, and around other dogs. Training skills that my wife and I definitely do not have. We continue classes for Maizy with Rick and look forward to boarding Maizy again with him in the future.

Rick and his team do a great job all around. I opted to do the two week board and train program for my pup, Ginger. It's hard leaving your fur baby somewhere for that long, but Rick is a really nice guy and someone you can trust to treat your dog like family. When I first got to Rick's place I think we spent an hour going over Ginger, the problems we were having at home - and how best to address those. When I left, I felt completely comfortable knowing Ginger would be in good hands. I got a handful of updates while Ginger was in training and Rick was very responsive any time I had questions. I am writing this review about a week after picking up Ginger from the program. I can tell she learned a lot, and really enjoyed her lessons. Before bringing her to Rick, Ginger was a 'super' jumper, and would just about tackle anyone who walked in the door. After going through the program I now have the tools to manage Ginger jumping all over my guests (among several other things). I can tell she is much more calm and controlled after going through training. In addition, Rick did some great work with the 'Stay' command which is a huge safety benefit for Ginger. She is one to bolt out of doors given any opportunity so that is something I can really appreciate. I think it is also worth noting that Rick is very affordable compared to similar services elsewhere. I was able to work with the board and train program on my grad student budget. For the price, you really can't find a better service. And, the two-week program includes a private lesson for some follow up training to help solidify the commands.
