Karma K9

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Karma K9 and the staff. From our first visit for a consultation with Jason we felt at ease that we had finally found the right trainers for our furbaby Athena (aka Sugar Bear). Athena was about to turn 3 when she went for her 5 week training course. At this point she had already gone through 3 others trainers with no success and being a 90 pound American Bulldog we knew we had to do something because she was completely out of control. We then met her personal trainer Melissa and she has been a God send. She is extremely knowledgeable, patient, compassionate and incredible with Athena. When we picked her up Athena was a completely different dog! Athena has had relapses on some of her training and Melissa has been there every step of the way to help get her back on track. Mindy, who I’ve learned wears many different hats at Karma K9 adores Athena. She is so understanding, offers many suggestions and has helped my family so much. Not only with Athena but she has also offered me so much support. Athena too absolutely LOVES Mindy (and her dog that has become known as Athena’s boyfriend…lol). I have been suffering from health issues these past several months and I can call Mindy who simply tells me to bring Athena there, they will take care of her however long I need. I can’t explain how much of a relief that has been! Buddha, one of the kennel staff is so good with Athena too. Both Buddha and Athena get excited to see eachother and he always makes sure to bring her a treat when he comes to get her from me. I recommend Karma K9 to all my patients at work because I work in Veterinary Medicine. Rather you have a puppy or older dog this is the place to go! I KNOW Athena is in safe hands when she is there and that she is well taken care of! Thank you to EVERYONE at Karma K9 for ALL you do because it is ONLY through their knowledge, training, compassion and flexibility that I was able to keep my sweet girl (bc her behavior had gotten so bad when I brought her there that we were starting to believe we were going to have to rehome her if this didn’t work)! Karma K9 is Athena’s second family and I will ALWAYS be grateful to every single person there!!!!

I have two GSPs. My husband and I were at the end of our rope trying to train them. We had some success but didn’t feel that we could accomplish the level of obedience we needed to keep our dogs safe. Karma k9 was WONDERFUL. They obviously care deeply about the pets they train, are highly communicative, and really know their stuff. Not only did they do an amazing job training our dogs, they also did an amazing job training us!

We brought a pure bred 5 year old golden retriever to Karma K9 to help him with resource guarding. All he knew was sit and he didnt jump up on people. We got him back into the rescue after being at Karma K9 approximately 6 weeks. He no longer knows sit, he jumps up on people, he lost 12 pounds 9(you can know feel all his ribs and his backbone) and he is so frantic we had to temporarily put him on anti-anxiety meds. Also someone took some scissors to his leg feathers but that is mild compared to everything else

So my husband is much nicer on the fact of giving 2 stars. I don’t think that spending $4000 and months and months of training for off leash and I can’t take my dog ANYWHERE is deserving of any stars. Yes, the staff is nice and great with the animals, BUT if I am spending thousands and thousands of dollars on training for my animals, especially to be off leash, I expect that to be the outcome. I have a Rottweiler at the time she was 2. She’s always been reactive and that’s why we put her in this extensive training. A solid two years later of practicing everything they preach, two dog collars, doing everything right she still is aggressive, and probably worse than she was before we took her. Maybe if you have a cute little doodle of some type or nice, non-aggressive dog, this might work for you.
