Kentucky Dog Training LLC

We sent our 1 year old rescue, Frankie, to training with Sam at Kentucky Dog Training LLC because she dealt with a lot of anxiety and reactivity around other dogs. As she is a bigger, athletic dog and we do not have a backyard, we wanted her to be able to have the freedom to run around off leash at parks and beaches and have the confidence to walk on leash around other dogs! Although she was only at training for a few weeks, Sam did an AMAZING job laying the ground work for Frankie to be off-leash and calm and polite on-leash. Sam is also equally committed to teaching the owners how to continue training on their own, giving us the tools we need to work with Frankie and answering any questions we’ve had so far with the possibility to do follow-up online training sessions as well. We can’t recommend the 18-day board and train program enough!

Sam has been excellent to work with! I look forward to dog club every week! Sam is very knowledgeable and patient, and has created a space to work with your dogs that is nonjudgmental. Working with her is allowing me to grow in my skills as a handler and strengthening the relationship between my dogs and I! Highly recommend working with her! Most recently she has worked with my pet dog, a rescue pit mix who was struggling. She has made great strides with him and is helping me communicate with him effectively. This has made him a much more enjoyable dog to live with.

My overall experience has been so awesome with Samantha. From the start she was helpful, informative with all my questions, and flexible with which training time we would sign up for. During the training she kept us updated with videos and pictures, which we cherished so much. Since returning home our Nellie has been so incredible and the transition back to us has been easy. Samantha gives you the tools to have a responsive, obedient, and overall happy dog. I would do this again in a heartbeat and look forward to sharing my experience around town.

I highly recommend Kentucky Dog Training LLC they are the best!! I boarded my working German Shepherd with Sam while I had surgery and recovered. Sam took amazing care of him, sent me pics/videos and kept me up to date with him. Those of us that have working dogs don’t like to leave them with anyone but I knew Sam was the perfect person!! I’ve also taken training classes with Sam and she’s amazing!! She has an amazing eye for dog training, she knows how to read a dog, has great solutions to any problems you may have with training your dog and is a really great dog trainer. She loves all the dogs in her care like they were her own!! A lot of places say they treat your dog like their own but KDT really does!! You won’t be disappointed sending your dog here❤️

There really are no words to the success and joy of going through this process. I have 3 very free spirited ( which means they want to do it their way) Golden Retrievers, each had their area needing massive work. I was scared to step out and pay- being honest -, but I am sooo glad we stepped out and took the chance. I found out there was no chance to it. Not only did she train my dogs, but I was given the support, time and understanding in learning myself. I felt so guilty I let my dogs get so wild and unruly, when all they wanted was my leadership, which I was 1000% given the tools, direction and guidance by Sam to finally do this and do it well, After your dog/dogs come back to you she takes the time to help you feel like you can do this. TRUTH BOMB- you must be as much apart of the dogs training as the dogs. If you do not follow the things you have been taught the leadership will not show through to your dogs. I was coming off of being really sick when they came back and KDT were very understanding and patience ,which was very much appreciated. I was not able to give 100% at first, but as soon as I felt better and took my place of leadership … I was so amazed and thrilled how each day we all got stronger and stronger together. They came back in June and since that time I have had two visits to help me get past hard areas. Funny enough Sam would show me simple little things that made the world of difference to get the fullness of my sweet doggos. Each time my confidence has gone up when Sam stops by, which means my leadership is stronger and my dogs understand me and preform even better. My neighbors use to watching me get drug during walks and telling me “you have your hands full”. Now everyone is amazed, shocked and nonstop compliment how well behaved they are, to the point of saying wow!! How wonderful that feels!! I understand there are many dog trainer’s, but the full package of care, patience and wanting happiness for the owner shine as bright as the Sun! Highly, highly recommend!
