LapdogH2O Canine Aquatic Therapy

I was so lucky to find Jill and lapdogH2O for my dog, Winnie. Winnie was born with some structural abnormalities in her hind knees. Swim has been so therapeutic for her on many levels. Jill has swam Winnie, helping to strengthen her hind leg muscles. It has done wonders for Winnie and her pain, and boosted her confidence. The buoyancy of the heated water does so much for some of the discomfort my dog feels. She loves going to see “Auntie Jill”. Jill has been such a voice of confidence for our family. Jill is kind, attentive and a true animal lover.

Jill and Lapdog gave our dog Bennett the opportunity to walk comfortably for the last three years of his life. Our vet recommended Lapdog H20 because Bennett was not healing well from cruciate surgery. He overcompensated for the pain in one leg by putting more pressure on his alternate shoulder, and the result was an entire body in pain. Bennett wasn't a natural water-loving dog, and the Lapdog staff took such care with him, massaging and holding him, then guiding him through the water. He attended sessions three times a week, and within a month was walking with all four legs. Within three months he was prancing! We actually were able to take Bennett to the Howloween Dog Parade, something we thought we'd never do again. He dressed as Prince, my family wore raspberry berets, and dog and humans had a grand time. The highlight of our day was visiting the Lapdog H20 booth so the staff could see what we considered an absolute miracle: Bennett with a purple jacket and guitar, grinning and happily accepting treats. When Bennett was subsequently diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma, Jill was the first to notice a lump. Her quick observation led to immediate treatment, allowing us to keep Bennett happy and relatively pain-free for as long as possible. Eventually his Lapdog visits changed. Jill and the staff held and massaged him in the water, taking pressure off of his joints and muscles. He would float and fall asleep in their arms. Bennett passed away last fall, and when my family was ready, Jill put me in contact with Safe Rescue and we adopted our darling Aussie Georgie. She began swimming with Lapdog at 13 weeks old! Now she deck-dives and has a grand time in the water. I'll admit, I'm tearing up as I write this. We are so thankful for Jill and everyone at Lapdog H20!
