We were having some significant problems -- reactive behavior towards other dogs and separation anxiety-like issues -- with our 85 pound, 4 year old Boxer-Great Pyrenees mix. It seemed to be escalating as we combined homes, and after a failed attempt with another trainer, we questioned whether trying again would be worth the time and stress (oh, and money). A referral lead us to Mark and Leader of the Pack Training and we decided to give it a go. Honestly? We weren't confident, at all. Our initial session consisted of us -- literally -- all sprawled on our dining room floor talking about everyday life with our two daughters (9 and 12) and Bella (the dog). Mark did a lot of listening, asked a lot of questions, then brought us outside to walk us through some behavior adjustments. It was an eye opening experience to say the least. Some of the adjustments were outside of what we really wanted to change in our lives, but he encouraged us to give it a try and adjust as it works for our family. After some very quick results, we chose to do a 4 week live-in training. Forever known as our best investment, ever! These days we all walk Bella (yes, the girls too!) with confidence through our dog-filled neighborhood. She actually seems happy to see us LEAVE as the separation anxiety has literally vanished. Bottom line is we would give Mark 10 stars if possible. His help has made the world of difference for our family and we are crazy thankful.

I had to wait a couple of weeks before writing a review to see if it really worked...IT DID!!! I had a hard time socializing my Bruno. As a result, he became aggressive towards other dogs and humans. We completed the 6-week obedience training without success. I contacted a train and boarding facility in Milwaukie, OR and the owner, within 15 minutes, told me to have Bruno euthanized. When I was done with that to come back to his establishment and he would give me a free dog. A dog that was already trained and "ready to go." I lost my marbles, but it guided me to narrow my search and find an aggression specialist and LEADER OF THE PACK came up. Mark took the time talk to me and interact with Bruno. I am aware it is a work in progress but Mark returned a well behave dog that listens, is excited to be around dogs, and respects my commands when approaching a new person. Mark and his team kept a detailed log of Bruno's training and it has turned into my guide. It's been a real pleasure having Bruno home, thank you Leader of the Pack.

We recently picked up our pittie mix “Abby” from Mark and Leader of the Pack after we returned to town. She was happy to see us and always sad to leave the pack. After 6 years of working with Mark we always know Abby is in good hands at LOTP. We have owned rescue dogs for years. We adopted Abby from a miserable existence in a Northern California town that essentially locked dogs up on a form of death row. Abby was a wild animal that had not been socialized with people since she was picked up off the street as a pup. We had never experienced a dog like Abby. We welcomed her to our family and after a few weeks of training with every technique we’d been taught we had made little progress. After slipping into “what have we got ourselves into” mind set we went looking for help. We found Mark online and invited him over. The short story is Mark evaluated three of us: Abby, my wife and me. As he trained Abby, he trained us as well. We did in-home and group sessions. In our opinion, we learned from the best in the NW. She is a different girl then the wild animal we picked up in a crate 6 years ago. One confirmation of how Mark relates to his “students” is how Abby genuinely looks forward to her stay at LOTP when we travel. We hand over the leash and she never looks back. 100% endorsement for Mark and Leader of the Pack from us!
