Lehigh Valley Dog Training

If I could give zero stars I would. This business and the women who runs it have now been reported to the Better Business Bureau multiple times for the same scam. We volunteer for a local non-profit 501c3 animal rescue. Recently our rescue had a young Saint Bernard named Nox surrendered by his owners being that they could no longer care for him. Nox went in to a foster home and started exhibiting some challenging behaviors, so we attempted to find breed specific resources. We found the Saint Bernard Rescue Foundation, Inc and were able to connect with a wonderful representative. This representative recommended Gwenevere Marx with Lehigh Valley Dog Training & Behavior. I personally contacted Gwen and spoke with her about the situation. She recommended we get him out of the foster home and in to a kennel local to her so she could work with him over a two week period while he was staying at the kennel. Gwen also informed me that the kennel charges $25 a day and that her training fee was between $600-$800 for the two weeks depending on how difficult Nox was to train. I booked the kennel starting 7/16/2023, and shared this info with the president of our rescue. Gwen wanted to meet Nox before the 7/16/2023 drop-off, so the foster drove him over an hour out to meet Gwen for a consultation on 7/14/2023. Prior to this consultation Gwen told the president of the rescue to send $600 in two different $300 payments via PayPal. Once the consultation took place Gwen was unable to control Nox, and based on videos taken she potentially put the foster at risk of injury during the meet. Gwen was not qualified to handle training, but refuses to return the $600 payment, and is now claiming that is her fee for the consultation, which was never communicated. We are a non-profit and would never be able to afford a $600 consult. Money needs to be returned since services were not provided. This woman stole from a non-profit that is volunteer base and only survives on donations. Also, Nox (the Saint Bernard) is now with a qualified trainer and is THRIVING.

Gwenevere Marx was AMAZING. I was referred to her with a dog I was fostering for a rescue. She was calm, patient, and very direct. She explained what she wanted and WHY. She explained the benefits for both the dog and the owner. Incredibly professional and her assistant was very helpful. I drove quite a way to get there and it was worth it. Don't get me wrong, she is no joke. She will correct you and your mistakes as much as she is correcting the dog and the behaviors... So it is a dual lesson but quite possibly the best most helpful lesson that helps your pet, your pet and the family, and you and your pet. Absolutely wonderful.

The entire training process with our German Shepard has been nothing but amazing. Always on call and available if we need the staff. I enjoy the Sunday training meet ups during the warmer months. The instructors are amazing and can handle any type of dog without stress. They are very informative and willing to recommend all types of service that can assist you and your dog. I would highly recommend the Lehigh Valley Dog Training!
