I HIGHLY recommend John for anyone seeking professional dog training. Our 5 month old puppy was having a hard time with obedience which is why we reached out to John. His communication was excellent, with daily videos and text messages keeping us informed throughout the process. He spent time with us during pickup and drop off in order to ensure we were well-trained on how to continue Rocky's success at home. He assesses each dog as an individual rather than relying on breed stereotypes. He takes the time to understand the behaviors, needs, and personality traits of each dog which helps set up the dog for success. He is extremely knowledgeable and transparent. Diesel was brought home on Sunday after being trained by The Dog Captain, it was so amazing to see the changes in him. He come home learning the commands, SIT, PLACE, STAY etc…. Working with John felt comfortable as it was easy to leave my baby with him (not the same at other places we tried before finding John. ) Diesel has learned to control his emotions as he was an extremely hyper dog. With him understanding place it gives him the opportunity to calm down when to excited. I am thankful for the training he received and would highly recommend The Dog Captain to anyone looking for some assistance with there dogs behaviors.

Our young Shepherd, Rex, fell in love with John. It was clear from the videos John sent us during the week that Rex was having a ball. It was like he was at summer camp. When Rex came home from his week with John, we immediately booked a week for our older Shepherd.
