Jan is incredible, her knowledge and ability to teach me how to speak dog to my k9 friend are incredible. Anytime I am frustrated or my dog isn’t listening I just need to go see Jan and she shows me the simple changes I can make to have the best relationship with my dog imaginable. 3 years ago I almost didn’t keep the rescue I adopted because her aggression scared me, than I found Jan, my Daisy dog is an incredible dog and thanks to Jan I still have her. I’m forever grateful! Do yourself and your dog a favor, go see Jan! Have a great dog already? Jan is incredibly patient, but also incredibly encouraging. She knows dogs. She knows my dogs better than I do. She can read their body language and help me to be able to train them better. We have a ways to go - but I am confident that Jan can train any dog with bad behavior. Dogs with no training and bad behavior is where we started. We were in a really tricky situation trying to get my mom's two dogs, which she could no longer care for due to permanent injury, to integrate with our two dogs. The boys were easy, ............ the girls just wanted to kill each other.............. I reached out to several different companies, but I was looking for something that wasn't a chain and wasn't young adults who had been taught the basics to pass on. I was looking for real training with real results. I called Live Oak Obedience Utah and Jan, the owner, answered the phone. I told her my situation and she spoke with me for 45 minutes to help me know how to make this work and that with some training and grit, we could make it possible for both sets of dogs to be in my home peacefully. I knew from our conversation that I had found who I was looking for. Our first class, Jan saw what a mess these two girls were. I would not have believed you had you told me what a difference one hour could make. They walked out of that first class different animals than when we came in. By no means are they ready to be around each other without leashes, but we are only on class number 5 and we have moved to the intermediate class, with dogs that can be near each other without lunging and growling.

Jan is a wonderful trainer. I have an Australian cattle dog which I adopted as a puppy at nine weeks old. He is a strong, smart, energetic puppy. I live in Colorado. But when I saw what Jan had achieved training my daughter's dog in Utah, I knew I needed Jan's help. My daughter's dog is the most obedient we have ever had in our family. So, every time I visit Utah, I attend one of Jan's classes with my puppy. When I recently stopped in Utah and just missed her scheduled class, she generously offered to help me the next day when she did not have a scheduled class. Jan's methods are scientific, loving and effective. I highly recommend her classes and both of her books. She teaches you how and why to communicate with your dog. Jim H.
