Jan changed everything for us. In just a few weeks, my reactive Cavapoo became calm, obedient, and well-mannered. It still feels like a miracle... Jan Perkins is an outstanding teacher. I came to her at my wit's end with my 9-month-old Cavapoo, Winnie, who was completely out of control. She was extremely aggressive whenever she saw other dogs, people, or even moving cars. When I walked into my first training class, Winnie was having a full-blown barking fit. Jan simply looked at me and said, "I can fix that." I honestly couldn't see how that could be possible. But by the end of that very first class, I saw a remarkable change in Winnie's behavior. Three weeks later, she was a different dog - calm, obedient, and well-mannered with both dogs and people. Even my vet and his entire staff were amazed at the change in her behavior!! Jan is incredibly knowledgeable and knows how to teach people to train their dogs. She truly cares about both you and your dog. I absolutely love going to her classes. I learn so much each time and enjoy meeting other wonderful dog owners. Thanks to Jan, I now have a much deeper understanding of dogs: how they think, learn, and feel loved and secure. It's been an amazing experience and I can't recommend her classes highly enough. Working with Jan and Live Oak has been transformational for my rescued Malinois. He has struggled with reactivity and stranger-danger. Jan's energy and method have helped him transform into a good canine citizen. She teaches so much more than basic obedience. Social skills, training skills (scent work is our favorite), and life skills! Last week we went to a group class at a park and he was off leash the entire time. I am confident taking him places, leaving him in a down if I have to attend to something, and I even have a command that stops him from running into the street chasing a ball. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Jan at Live Oaks is second to none in obedience training, My dog wouldn’t even be alive without her. One day her ball went into the street and she was headed straight after it. I yelled stop, and on a dead run, she immediately stoped, avoiding the car. Her obedience classes saved her life despite her obsession with chasing balls.Because of Jan she also has won 5 ribbons in scent work in her first trails. Jan is Amazing!!

Jan's training was invaluable when it really counted! I'm in her intermediate training class & she recently covered what to do when confronted with an off-leash dog that has an aggressive posture & is come at your dog; one of my worst-case scenarios as a dog walker & responsible for the safety of other folks pets. Not only was it easy to remember what Jan had instructed, I was able to put it into practice the instant a random dog came out of the bushes at us on a regular neighborhood walk. Most importantly, it worked!! The dog backed off & my dog stayed calm & unharmed! So grateful for her training & foresight of instruction; it's so much easier not to panic when you have the tools to deal with the problem.
