Love For Dogs

My 6 month old puppy Pepper had a wonderful experience participating in the Love for Dogs, 15-day Basic Obedience and Manners, Train and Board Program. I am very pleased with the amount she took away from this experience. The trainers and staff went above and beyond to stay in contact with me, and sent multiple updates over the course of the program in the form of pictures and videos. We are already booking her for a 5-day Training Refresh & Board Program while I am traveling in the coming week. I couldn’t recommend Love for Dogs more. We are grateful to have found them when we did for Pepper!

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience so others know what to expect. When I started working with this company, my puppy was just six months old. I had actually used their services in the past with another dog and didn’t have a great experience, but I decided to give them another shot because this new puppy was much calmer and I thought she would just need some basic obedience training. However, after bringing her home, I realized she was more anxious and fearful than I expected. I reached out to the company early on with concerns about her becoming reactive toward other dogs. I spoke with a trainer who told me it was likely just territorial behavior, but I didn’t feel like my concerns were really taken seriously or that a clear plan was offered. I followed up again later because the behavior continued, but once again, nothing was really addressed. Then about a month ago, my dog had an aggressive incident with another dog—something that’s never happened to me before in all my years of owning dogs. I emailed the company immediately and never heard back. I understand that dog behavior is complex, and I don’t expect miracles. But when a company offers a lifetime training guarantee and clients bring up serious concerns multiple times, there should be more support and follow-through. I’m very disappointed with the lack of responsiveness and care I received. Save your money and go elsewhere now I am paying another trainer to address my concerns UPDATE: They did not call me as they said they would, further proof of how much they care.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. My dog came back traumatized and showed no signs of proper training, despite spending over $2,000. There was no noticeable improvement—he’s still the same, if not worse. They even sent him home earlier than scheduled. Now, he’s fearful of everything and clearly suffering emotionally. I strongly urge other pet owners to keep their dogs away from this facility.

Love For Dogs was not our first place, but is truly the only place we will only frequent. We were fortunate to have a street dog adopt us at an early age. We went to a Heights area play/train facility to get a stellar report card and then to be rejected the next week with no explanation. Ashton and Dani (main trainers) and the wonderful crew at LFD are awesome at understanding your pup's needs and our wants. As a household use to older adopted dogs, having a young whippersnapper was a major change. Not only have we enjoyed the journey our pup has taken with LFD, we decided to sign up our older dog for some training. LFD took each dog individually, and they also worked on joint training between two, highly individual brothers from another mother. LFD training has allowed my youngest to shine and be his social self, allowed my eldest gain confidence and break from his shell, and allowed me to work with my pups for better lives. One of the best qualities for LFD is that they don't breed discriminate. They truly look past breeds and allow dogs to interact with others that best suit their personalities. Their training is great: they provide training videos with your pup and they can set up one on one training to help you help your dog. Also, their boarding is great too! Throughout the day, they send updates including pictures and videos.
