Lucky Star Dog Training

2 years, 3 month old European doberman female. In order to give you the full picture of how much Jen has helped my family I will start by sharing, I am due with a baby in early 2025. From the moment I found out I was expecting I was so nervous about what we were going to do with the dog.. Phoebe was taking over my life, as much as I loved her, she was so stubborn, she would pick on me and my husband, she truly ran our house.. tearing up carpet, had no recall, barking in our faces, needy for attention, couldn’t walk on leash, would try and beat me downstairs and through doorways as a little game she played. She had no respect for us as her owners. My husband and I knew that it was likely from things that we were reinforcing without meaning to. After speaking with Jen, I knew she was the perfect fit for us for training. I did speak with multiple trainers, in fact, it took me three months to find Jen and I had almost put down deposits with multiple different locations but nothing felt right. Something that stood out to me was how she educated us on the relationship we should have with our dogs, and the benefits of owning a dog that you have trust and control with. I love that she works out of her home too and I didn’t have to send our girl to some warehouse like I had seen. Since getting Phoebe from training last week, I can say I am truly floored at what she has learned. She is so attentive to my husband and I as we command, she has nailed her loose leash walking, she is responsive to our commands and overall seems to just be a more relaxed and calm dog.. She genuinely is happier because she seems like she understands our relationship and what’s expected of her! I could go on and on about how this has changed my family for the better, we truly love our dog, and I feel so thankful to have found lucky Star dog training. My favorite portion of the training was how she helped us understand how to reinforce the training at home. She took her time and kept asking us what questions we have, she truly insured that we understood how to work with Phoebe at home. We will be sending her back for a week once the baby arrives for some boarding, she loves going there and I’m so happy that we finally have a resource for Phoebe! Highly recommend Lucky Star!!! When we adopted Enzo, we took him through some basic obedience training but soon discovered that we would need help with more advanced training. Jennifer and Aaron did an amazing job with Enzo! Walking Enzo is now a joy rather than a tug-of-war and his off leash skills get better with every practice. Jennifer focuses on helping you build a better relationship with your pup, going beyond them just obeying commands. Enzo's training has become a daily part of our lives, and we couldn't be happier with the results. We are so grateful to have found Jennifer and Aaron!

We did Jen's 3 week board and train for our 10 month old vizsla, Noli, and got incredible results from the training! It was hard to leave her for 3 weeks but Jen updated us on how things were going along the way with photos. Jen really helped talk us through the training and proper use of the e collar for the transition to home. She was available for all of my questions even though she had already given us a thorough training ourselves on how to implement the new learned obedience at home. And she gives you a lengthy handout for reference. Noli's behavior has changed incredibly, she listens so much better than before and her recall is amazing, we can give her the freedom to run and explore but also trust she will come back when called or if we need her close for any reason (like a recent run in with a skunk that we avoided). The training she received has saved us so much frustration and is helping Noli to understand what her "job" is at all times. As a working breed, she really was unsettled when she didn't know what to do and now even sitting on her place is a job and she gets that is what she needs to do until released. I highly recommend Jen and her husband at Lucky Star, they really care about the dogs and your relationship with them. It's already made our life so much more enjoyable with our sweet, silly girl.
