M.O.A. GUNDOGS

Marv and his wife Laura with M.O.A are your people! From the very beginning Marv provided my new pup, Lainey and I with support and guidance on training at home. I would message him with any concerns or questions regarding training and he would promptly respond with a supportive answer. He had helped guide me with what to work on the first few weeks I had my pup home. My old chocolate lab had torn his ACL and was unable to hunt much, so I picked out Lainey specifically to be a hunting dog but also a friend to my other lab at home. Soon I realized she needed more obedience training then I had the time for. I researched multiple trainers and was unable to find a place that seemed fit. I wrote Marv back inquiring about training for both obedience and gundog and he explained in great detail what M.O.A had to offer and how there was a class that would specifically cover both! Marv took the time to break down the structure of the program, including what to expect, fees and how at the end of the program my dog would be at AKC Junior Hunter Level.I quickly signed up my pup as spots are limited. The day I dropped off Lainey at M.O.A, Marv gave me a tour of the facility and showed me where Lainey would be staying for the next 3 months. Immediately I noticed how welcoming and clean the facility was and how spoiled my dog was about to be. Every Wednesday, Marv sent out a detailed text about how training was going for the week. Marv gave his honest feedback on how Lainey was doing; including the good moments and her struggles. A video and/or picture was also included to share what she was learning! This was extremely helpful in seeing the progress my pup was making as well as making miss her a little less hard. Marv did allow me to also visit my pup anytime I felt the need to! In the last month of training Marv had me go to the facility and train with him and Lainey to help with the transition in going home. Videos were sent prior so I was able to watch and learn what to expect and keep as a reference. Marv was patient with me and explained all the things Lainey had learned, the expectations for her moving forward and how to continue with her at home. He held multiple sessions with me til I was comfortable with obedience, and running retrieves with my girl solo. Once bringing my girl home, Marv has stayed in contact with me on how Lainey is doing and has helped me work out any kinks in training. I cannot thank Marv and Laura enough for truly exceeding my expectations and transforming my high energy pup into a well obedient young gundog. Their passion for the dogs is unmatched and they truly care about you and your pup’s success.

What an amazing place. I came to Marv and Laura after losing my hunting dog. Marv spent a lot of time with me discussing what I had in my old dog and what I wanted in my new dog. Once we found Ruckus, Marv and Laura took care of the process of getting Ruckus to California. The facility at M.O.A. Is really quite amazing. It is well thought out and provides a healthy environment for the dogs to exercise, train and socialize. My previous dogs were started by great trainers and I thought I had learned a lot during those processes. Marv and Laura take it to a whole different level. Constant texts, video’s and emails kept me up to date on my dog’s process. I visited and participated in training frequently and Marv explained exactly what was happening and our progress. I say “our” because Marv was training me as much as he was training Ruckus. I could not be happier with the final results. I’ve never had a dog that works at this level. I’m truly impressed with Marv and Laura’s training program. The process is explained at every step and my participation was encouraged along the entire journey M.O.A. Gun Dogs exceeded my expectations by far. Marv And Laura are kind and thoughtful people who really care about the dogs and want the best for them. The weekly updates and nearly daily videos communicated clearly the progress my dog was making. Marv included training videos for me to view before I came up and trained with Ruckus. We continue to communicate on Ruckuses progress and I know Marv is just a phone call or text away to help. Thanks again Marv and Laura for what you do and how you do it.

MOA! We purchased our Labrador puppy, Annie, from them 2 years ago and it has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Recently, Annie has been training with them for the last 3 months, and the experience has been amazing. They’ve been incredibly hands-on, not only with Annie but also with our whole family, making sure we’re confident and involved every step of the way. From getting the weekly updates telling us how our girl is doing, to answering my stupid questions. I looked forward every week for our update and video, it was one of my favorite parts. The communication was top notch. We can’t thank Marv and Laura enough for their patience with not only our dog but us as well. They have became family to us. Looking forward to the years tome come. Marv and Laura Thank you for your guidance and care, Annie is truly becoming the perfect dog. We are beyond grateful for their expertise and highly recommend them! Ready for duck season to start!
