Man's Best Friend

The team at Man's Best Friend did a great job boarding Louie for over two weeks while we went away on vacation. Louie takes time to get used to humans and needs to be kept separated from other dogs and MBF came through without any issues. We will certainly use them again in the future and if you have a difficult dog, they are worth a shot. We had complete peace of mind while we were overseas. Check them out!

I can't recommend Man's Best Friend enough. Shannon Walker is incredible at what she does and genuinely loves animals. It's obvious that this isn't just a job for her, she truly cares about changing the lives of both pets and their owners. She knows exactly what she's talking about and gets straight to the point, but she also does an excellent job explaining how a dog's brain works and why her training methods are so effective. Instead of expecting you to blindly follow instructions, she makes sure you understand the reasoning behind everything, which gave me so much more confidence. Some people may find Shannon a little intimidating at first because she's direct, but I found her to be approachable, encouraging, and wonderful to learn from. Her passion for what she does really shines through. One of the things I appreciated most is that she doesn't just train the dog, she trains the owner. She gives you the knowledge and tools to continue building on your dog's success long after training is over. In my opinion, that's what makes all the difference. I also want to address the biggest complaint I've seen in other reviews, that Shannon can be difficult to get ahold of. We definitely played a bit of phone tag at times, but after seeing how she runs her business, I completely understand why. Shannon is personally hands-on with every dog that comes through training. It's not just the additional trainers working at Man's Best Friend, you also have the owner, who has been doing this for nearly 30 years, personally investing her time into your dog. She's busy because she's out doing the work, not sitting behind a desk. And like anyone else, she also deserves time for her own personal life. After talking with Shannon and seeing firsthand the work she did with both me and my dog, I couldn't recommend Man's Best Friend more. Leaving your fur baby with people you don't know for 30 days is incredibly difficult, and I really struggled with missing my girl. But looking back, it was absolutely worth it. You can trust that your beloved pet is receiving excellent care and will come home with the training you invested in. I'm so grateful for everything Shannon has done for me and for Stormy. Thank you for helping us build a stronger relationship. If you're on the fence about sending your dog to Man's Best Friend, I truly believe it's one of the best investments you can make for both you and your pet.

We recently sent our dog to a board-and-train program, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about our experience. From the moment we met the trainer, we could tell how much she genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. She’s patient, knowledgeable, and communicates so clearly—not just with the dogs, but with us as owners too. The results have been incredible. Our dog came home more confident, well-behaved, and responsive—we truly got everything we were hoping for and more. It’s made such a positive difference in our day-to-day life and our relationship with our dog. What stood out the most was how much thought and consistency went into the training. It’s clear this isn’t just a job for her—she really understands dogs and wants them (and their owners) to succeed. We’re beyond grateful and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for real, lasting results. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us and our dog!

We cannot thank Shannon and her team enough what they did for our dog Max. We got Max as an 8 week old puppy and we love him we just didn’t know what we were doing and he had no boundaries or discipline. He was all over the place. Pulling on the leash, eating our walls, jumping on the counters and chairs-we had to remove all our dining room chairs because he could jump on them and then onto the table. After the 30 day board and train we got back our same fun loving dog but who is now so well behaved. We can take him places and I don’t have to worry about him jumping up or running away. He no longer pulls on the leash or eats the house or jumps up. We can finally use our kitchen table again. The training allows me to bond with Max even more now-and we cannot thank Shannon enough! We would HIGHLY recommend. It is on us to keep up what she instilled in him and we will definitely do so! All of our neighbors and even strangers have complimented how well behaved he is when we are on walks. It is night and day difference and the investment is worth it!
