Massbach Kennels

We had a wonderful experience with Justin at Massbach Kennels for our board and train experience. Our dog was with him for 2.5 months for basic obedience training. The transformation with her is nothing short of amazing! We are very happy with our decision to have him train her and impressed with the results. We were provided with updates regularly and this included videos. We'll definitely be contacting him for follow-up training sessions as needed. Our family highly recommends Justin as his knowledge and training expertise are invaluable. Massbach Kennels and Justin exceeded our expectations and we will not hesitate to reach out again in the future for either additional training, boarding, or general recommendations.

My wife Donna and I started looking for a new pup last spring. Came across Justin's website and visited his facility. Was going to wait until next spring but Justin said he had 2 litters planned for fall. After showing us around and his dogs we decided to get a pup this year. Justin runs a top notch kennel and his dogs are of excellent quality. So glad we decided to get our new pup from him. Riley is an outstanding dog of obvious superior breeding and temperament. We have had numerous hunting dogs over the years and he is by far the best new addition we have ever had. Am looking forward to many years of upland hunting with him. I highly recommend Massbach for quality of his breeding and the excellent condition of his facility. From what I have read about Justin he also is an outstanding teacher and trainer. We hope to take Riley to him to get him up to speed and help me with his training. The fact that he is so close by in Mt Carrol is just an added benefit.

We appreciated the care given to our dogs at Massbach Kennels. This is a family run business. Justin is a dog trainer as well so he is in tune with dog personalities and traits. My two dogs had never been away from home, so understandably I was anxious. They were able to stay together in a large kennel. The facility is specifically designed for dogs. We liked the rural setting as well. When I sent emails prior to our stay my questions were answered quickly. This is quality care and a reasonable price point. Harry and Reno will visit Massbach Kennels again.

Justin is the Best! We got a red lab puppy. He is the best puppy we've ever had. Has a great disposition. So smart too, picks up things so fast. (Potty training, retrieving) Our dogs have always been family-hunting dogs. As will be this new addition to our family. Justin is great, and always just a text or call away. He is very helpful, kind, and friendly. I will always get my pups from him in the future. Sorry I didn't find him sooner.

Our plans to kennel our Great Dane (Gantu) at another location fell through yesterday, and if we couldn't find a place on short notice, my wife would've had to attend the wedding alone. We were up from Texas, and this was obviously an important family event. We contacted a few places, and luckily, Justin called back within a few minutes of me leaving a message. He said that he was out of town, but that his wife (Sarah) was home, and she would call. An hour later, she did, and we had a place for Gantu to stay for a few hours. I dropped him off at 1430 hours, and the arrangement was made that I would get him again at 2100 hours that evening. Knowing that Gantu was a rescue, and that he was previously abandoned on the streets of Dallas, I was basically panicking about this. However, Sarah was really nice, and she showed me the facilities with Gantu in tow. Gantu was scared after he realized what was going on (and scared from the other dogs that were barking), and he panicked as I left him in the kennel. Sarah said that he would be okay, and that she would keep my updated on how he was doing. Sarah said that he settled down within half an hour, and he laid down on his bed (that I brought), along with his toys and a t-shirt with my smell on it. Sarah fed him and gave him his meds on schedule, and we were very pleased not only with everything when we picked Gantu up, but also that Sarah was patient with us arriving a little later than planned (the drive from Oregon, IL was much more challenging during the night, and it was difficult for my wife’s condition). Sarah sent periodic text messages with status of Gantu, which ensured us that he was okay, and she even sent a photo that she snuck of him sleeping on his bed with his toys and my t-shirt. Sarah also spent time with him, and she realized how much of a big snuggle baby that he actually is. :-) Needless to say, Gantu lost his mind when we picked him up. :-) The facility is very clean and organized, and none of the kennels face each other, which certainly helps with dogs that have anxiety (such as Gantu). For everything, including and not the least, the last-minute help and her flexibility, we thank Justin and Sarah from the bottom of our hearts for their help and flexibility.
