Master's Way Dog Training

Just completed a five week training course with my seven month old wirehaired pointing griffon. Rick is am excellent trainer that teaches you how to work with your dog and build a relationship that makes obedience come easy. He uses a very different method than anything else I read or watched online or on tv. No treats and no harsh punishment either. Don't waste your time with any other type of training. Now my Roo is so much more enjoyable with the family both inside and outdoors.

I procrastinated and used several other trainers before calling Master's Way. That was a mistake. I should have contacted Rick immediately after we rescued Comet. But, with Rick's guidance and input, Comet made dramatic improvement and now enjoys a normal family life. Rick helped me turn Comet from a fearful, isolated, and badly behaved dog into a playful, loving, and respectful pet. I highly recommend Master's Way if you are willing to put the time and effort into achieving your goals with your dog.

When looking for a dog trainer I was in an extreme rush and was looking for a quick fix. I am glad I came across Rick Shubert's Master's Way Training site and spoke with him on the phone for nearly an hour because he made me realize that there is NO "quick fix." Rick showed my dog Patch and I that the change had to come from within the BOTH of us. It wasn't just my dog who had to change, it was me and my boyfriend who had to change our behavior, mannerisms, language, and body language. Our dog, a normally friendly dog, had bit a complete stranger and thankfully this man chose not to press charges of any kind but we realized we needed help quick. Rick taught Patch and I the right way to approach stressful situations and every day normal scenarios. I've had a Shepherd/Akita mix for 10 years now and thought that I knew exactly how to interact and train our newest Shepherd/Akita (Tango) from the same family. It turned out that he was completely different. He was not a confident dog and was extremely shy towards all people. We got Tango at 8 weeks from the same friend that gave us our first dog and nothing happened to make him afraid of humans. It turns out he was just a very shy dog that wasn't socialized enough as a pup. This made him aggressive towards people and children. He quickly learned that if he barked and growled at people they would leave him alone. This was very embarrassing for us and dangerous because we didn't know if he would actually hurt somebody. Rick taught us how to change Tango’s behavior by using the right commands, us taking on a leadership roll in the pack and giving Tango work so he can feel accomplished. The training with Rick was once a week for about two months as well as every day for us at home. There were noticeable changes in Tango’s behavior after just a few weeks. We finished are training with Rick and continue to train Tango ourselves every day. Our friends and family tell us how much better he has become. He is starting to warm up to new people entering our house now that he knows were in charge and they pose no threat. Rick gave Tango a purpose, a more suitable place in the pack and taught us how to act around him in order for him to respect us as the pack leaders. He is a much more well behaved dog now. We enjoy spending as much time as we can with Tango and Rick made him a happier, healthier dog.
