About Mid-Michigan K9 Academy - Saginaw
We created a system involving a combination of balanced and positive reinforcement-based learning techniques. This makes training exciting and fun for your dog and leads them into wanting to perform well for you. They learn faster this way, which is why we’ve been able to accomplish in a week what other training companies take weeks or even months to teach. Leash manners, basic commands, mouthing, jumping, puppy basics, recall (to come when called), pack structure, reactivity, aggression, and impulse control are a few of the subjects we cover, with a special focus on the behaviors which are important to you. What’s more–and so crucial to our system’s success–we show you the techniques to make these new behaviors stick at home.

How much do it cost
Hi Ta’vearia, my name is Jim. I have two primary services. One is the board and train where your dog would stay with me for seven days and nights for intensive training. That is $750. The other is private lessons, where you would bring your dog each week for six weeks to have me coach you. Here, you’d take the lessons and then go home and work the exercises each week. We have a newer dog who wasn’t great with commands and aggressive towards strangers. We signed Roger up for a two week training and they exceeded our expectations. He will never be a dog who is good with strangers (I’m not either lol), but we have learned the tools to slowly introduce and keep everyone safe. He now walks well on leash, comes with 1 command and is less reactive. Highly recommend!!

WE LOVE MMK9 Academy!!!! Frank is an 8 month old yellow lab, who was driving us NUTS with his behaviors. Nothing worked... until we took him to Jim & The Redemption Crew at MMK9!! Frank spent two weeks with them, and we now enjoy having him in our home. And, he's stopped trying to eat our home!!! He was jumping, tugging on clothes, hard mouthing, incredibly OBNOXIOUS, but the team -- and special thanks to Allison & Wes -- worked over and over with Frank's squirrel brain to get him in line. Even after we got him home, we've been able to ask questions and get advice to keep him going so well. Don't be afraid of the training collar - it's not used to punish!!! I never thought I'd have one of my dogs wear one, but this one is static - not "zapping." I tried it on myself. Lol... Frank was well-cared for and loved on. The daily videos encouraged us that we had sent him to right trainer. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND MMK9!!!

Our experience with the Mid-Michigan K-9 academy was wonderful. We did the 7 day doggy boot camp to help Buckley with being overprotective of the family and with him being so reactive and nervous. We wanted him to gain confidence and leash manners so we could take him in public without him being so high strung. They made us feel so comfortable leaving our dog Buckley and followed through with the expectations that they assured us they would do. They sent video updates a couple of times a day showing a small fraction of the real work they were putting in, and it truly showed. They even worked Thanksgiving, making sure the training continued and not leaving the dogs alone. I didn't receive a video on Thanksgiving and I wrote them later that night saying I was concerned that no one was there and they literally sent the videos from that day at like 2:30 a.m they had just forgot "I'm sure because they were busy and I'm sure they wanted to be home with their family too but, they were sacrificing time by helping various families just as promised, and that speaks volumes ♡ They also have 2x a day health checks, and Buckley came home just as healthy as when he went in. They also assured us that even though the training was finished, their doors are still open, and they are only a phone call away. The fact you can see all of their trainers' compassion is phenomenal on it's own and the owner as well is amazing. They all want this to be successful, and it shows. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone struggling with their dog or even just for their boarding or grooming needs. This place was truly amazing.
