Sores from prong after 1 week stay. My dog was also sick coming home from his stay at mid michigan K9. Turns out that’s because any efficient boarding facility would require vaccines/documentation of proof that dogs have all vaccines INCLUDING bordetella unlike mid michigan. If the dog doesn’t have the vaccine the facility should easily deny the pet to stay until vaccination proof is provided. Being a new to boarding I was completely unaware of bordetella so my dog never had it, and I was never confronted by the facility that he didn’t have it when providing his vet records. Instead they just took my money, said his records were “all good” and he ended up sick. Hopefully this review warns others and maybe serves as some education to the company to require this vaccine/and actually check all your dogs records… I was happy when I went to another boarding establishment in Almont and was denied stay for my dog because he never had the bordetella vaccine. I appreciated them educating me and wanting to keep my dog safe as well as the other dogs he’s around!! :)

I am so happy we sent our Aussiedoodle Jett here. He was not a good listener and aggressive when he played. He also barked non stop and would never listen when asked to stop. On top of that he was a very excited greeter to other people and dragged us on a leash but he’s also a puppy. My fiancé was recently diagnosed with a disorder that flared up in stressful/anxious situations. So this was something that was potentially making it worse. We did the 2 week program for Jett and I could not be more pleased. We loved the videos and pictures every day. You could definitely tell a huge difference. When we picked up we learned how to continue the training at home and the commands to go with it. The first day at home was slightly stressful getting him used to being home again but after that as we continued to work with him he has been better and better every day. He walks on his leash so good! We tell him to go to his place and stay for when we are eating or when people come over and he does so well! His listening has been subpar and never have to tell him more than once “off” or “no”. He’s a completely different puppy and we are so grateful for this program! It was worth the hour drive there and back, twice! Thank you Mid-Michigan K9 Academy for all your hard work!

A terrible and expensive experience. We contacted Mid-Michigan K-9 Academy and spoke with the owner Jim. We explained in detail that while our 7 month old dog has had constant training from us, he is still aggressive with other dogs and people coming into our house. He is capable of walking on a leash and most other commands but these two problems we couldn’t fix. After a few questions Jim assured us he could fix these two problems within a week. We spoke with Jim several more times asked many questions and check his website and the glowing reviews. We dropped the dog off and filled out paperwork telling them what are dog could do and what problems we had with the dog’s behavior. We started having reservations after the second day. The website says they send you daily videos of your dogs progress. We saw them work through standard tricks our dog could already do, but never saw them work on our dogs problems. We received a text message, not a phone call on the second to last day saying they needed another week. Needless to say we opted not to give them another $1200.00. When we picked up our dog we could see the owner through the side door. He would not come out to speak with us or acknowledge us. He had a trainer talk to us. The trainer seemed to know nothing about why we brought our dog there and there was no exit training. In conclusion after spending $1200.00 on their training, $250.00 on the E-collar and $50.00 on a prong collar they strongly recommended we ended up with nothing. I would not recommend this place to anybody. 02/25 The owner must have us confused with another client. He has never spoke with me since our training, and never offered to do anything free of charge. We did pay for and attend the two follow up classes, but never spoke with the owner. The trainer we work with was fine but we got no real results for the two follow up trainings. As I barely spoke with the trainer at the end of the week he certainly was not mistreated in any way. Our dog is not Lily it is Archer. I would appreciate your inaccurate response to be removed and would like an apology. Jim has mistaken who my wife and I are. It is sad to know we weren’t the only ones to come away with no results, however we were never offered any additional help from Jim and certainly not for free. Blaming 2 different clients for your failures. Doesn’t seem like the best business practices Jim, but it does seem like a pattern…
